I have the same issue with my Razer abyssus, basically your mouse cannot keep up with the speed your hand is moving at, I read cloth surfaces can make the issue more prominent. So when you rocket jump and you quickly swipe past a certain speed, the mouse loses all sense of reality and spins out just to keep you in your toes. I still have the issue now, I have learnt what speed the bug kicks in at so it doesent really bother me anymore. It probably holds my game back a lot but for now I don't mind. Basically get a better mouse

That spin at the end is sick. My Zowie FK2A sometimes skip to the floor or the roof but i guess its due ot either me having a too fast move, some very small dust/hair on the pad (i have a cat) or just the mouse. I remember this never happening with intellimouse optical from microsoft but it was 400 dpi only, and i use my Zowie at 1600 DPI.

But I keep hearing that you just can't make the 3366 sensor spin out. And it's never happened on the default surface settings, so I think the surface tuning is to blame.
I guess, without physically moving the lens or sensor, it must be using some software shenanigans that just can't keep up with things when non-vegans throw the mouse.

Returning to the "default" surface "tuning" has fixed the issue.

The so-called "surface tuning" on those mice never worked and always caused this type of glitching out on all kinds of different pads.

cloth pads are shit for surface tuning and it actually works pretty well if you're using one of those hard surface pads, I've got one of those logitech hard pads and they work pretty well, however I just find the default surface setting fine.

As far as I'm aware it just adjusts the LOD slightly and tightens the tracking, which doesn't make a difference if you're aggressive with the mouse in it's movements.

Mine did the same thing. The newest firmware fixed it for me. I know the software is supposed to automatically update but it doesn't so you need to go and download the newest Logitech software and update the firmware.

I can't. The newer versions also require a windows update. I can't update my windows because reasons.

Well if you update the firmware it should fix the problem even if your using the older software.

Don't use surface tuning, you shouldn't need it anyway. If you need to lower the LOD you can just cover part of the sensor with some tape. This is the best sensor ever. The only problem with it is that if you miss, you know not the mouse's fault :D

Counterstrike makes me miss.

When you started CS, did you change your sensitivity or do you use a different sensitivity in CS? Also turning off surface tuning should help. Any of these things will potentially drop your accuracy in Quake Live!

I use 30cm/360 in Ql. Dunno about CS. Pad ain't big enough, but it's around 30 for a 180, so haf the sens. Everything feels wayyyy twitchy when I play Quake again. It's just weird that my rail suffers but my LG is no worse than usual. I need to stay off live servers until I've washed all the CS off of me.

I don't think I'd be able to aim in CS with 30cm or move in Ql with 60. I'll just have to play a few games against bots whenever I switch back

Think that was an FFA. People don't dodge in FFA, so even I can hit 40+ I don't worry about LG cus it's so situational. But to go from always being 60+ rail to being ~40...there was ONE weapon I could hit really well with, and now I can't hit with that. :( Think I'll just spam nades from now on.

I play ET. G403 tracks ok on default preset for desktop. In ET aiming kinda shaky and sometimes not reading movement during tracking enemy at a distance. Previous mice tracking tuning was always bs. Low and behold when I finally tuned it in desperation for my steel series smooth cloth mousepad, it is now tracking properly. It's as if I got a new mouse. The tuning has nothing to do with LOD in the Logitech, as the training is without lifting mouse at all.
It's like night and day, with or without the tuning. Maybe the driver dislikes smooth cloth or something. Either way, formed at least it means shit tracking by default until you tune it. Hope this helps someone.
