in my experience g100s' durability issues can be solved with some tape/glue to fix the lens and the infrared LED, they can loosen up with time, lens start rattling and the led can sway around a bit deviating from its originally intended angle possibly causing tracking malfunctions (smashed mine a while ago, tracking fucked up and after resetting the led's position it tracks good as new)

and btw i wouldnt call a wmo more durable with that shitty scroll wheel ;]

Have you considered a Zowie mouse? In my experience those can take the most beating.

The WMO and G100S are good mice, here are my experiences:

WMO
-negative overall build quality (notably weak cable and scroll)
-125Hz
-slow buttons
-sensor might not cope with your sensitivity

G100S
-build quality worse than WMO, (notably weak buttons and cable)
-sensor might not cope with your sensitivity
-stuck at 1000dpi unless you use software (might not be an issue for you)

I still really love all Intelli mice, but I eventually decided to leave them in the past. For me the wheel would always get loose causing the famed 'jump bug' (I used scroll for jump) and despite coping with other issues like the polling, the jump issue was too much for me. That sensor is a gem even today, but to be honest I find myself raping heads with any decent sensor as long as it matches certain criteria.

I liked using the G100S but to me it always had slightly flimsy buttons out of the box. There's a weight inside that can be removed if you prefer.

Yeah I think it differs with your play style. I think it's only an issue with fast wide sweeps and, contrary to what most believe about themselves, these sensors will do well for most.

What do you mean you "play CS:GO with 54.5cm/360 to 19.3cm / 360"? Do you switch between two sensitivities or did you mean to type you play quake at 19.3/360?

"Durability" in mice is pretty much a non-factor. Or should be anyways; switches, encoders, cables and feet as the only wearing parts are replaceable and even those usually take years and years to give in.

WMO's "neg accel" (which really is just a functional speed cap) starts to kick in at 1.5m/s. Since it malfunctions only at physical speeds higher than that however it has proven to be perfectly suitable for low sensitivities too (assuming the right surface is used). 50/360 is mid-range, so you should be fine - especially in CS which is not nearly as fast-paced and swipe-heavy as quake.

I'd say get the WMO or wait for what this year's mice bring. The G100S is not a bad mouse, but has its fair share of quirks and I think everybody that seriously cares about mousing should have experienced the MLT04 at some point in their gaming life.

What I broke to this day was many switches / mouse wheels/mouse feet and cords, I play a lot.

Unless you're RKO'ing your mouse when it comes to durability you won't have an issues with the g100s.

I move the mouse pretty aggressively and even squeeze it sometimes to the point where I can hear the body of the mouse creek.

There was a batch that came out where the sensors came loose after a few months but that got resolved, I've since had 2 and the most recent one I've picked up was £19.99.

It's up to you, the whole elitist WMO bullshit is just really a fanboy thing and don't get me wrong it's an awesome piece of hardware, I've still got 2 lying around but massive resolutions it just breaks your arm trying to navigate across multiple monitors and it's a pain in the ass to change the windows sensitivity in between gaming and non gaming.

I've found that on windows 7/8 when you adjust the windows sens to a lower or higher mark you physically need to reboot the pc when you want to adjust it back ot the 6/11 position as it feels somewhat accelerated, might be placebo but hey fuck that shit.

Also what Memphis suggested is good, their newer models mice are pretty damn hard wearing too.

WMO is gonna need better mouse feet tbqh, fam, so make sure you get some if you buy it.

Quality-wise, I think G100s is hit or miss. I have bought two that were fine (in retail packaging), and one that was totally crummy out of the box (bulk packaging), so I would be weary about getting it.

My honest opinion is that the newer sensors are better than the g100s and match the older microsoft mice as long as the firmware is done right. It would probably be worth just getting a zowie. Just don't get the FK. I know a lot of people say it is good but the shape of the mouse with the huano switches are just very hard on your hands for long gaming sessions.

I dunno how what your mousing style is, but I have no problem with either (main G100s) at 60-80cm/360. TBH I have many more problems with 3090 mice like the Aurora (granted part if it is the shape since it sucks in comparison to G1/G100s IMO) than I do with either MLT04 or AM010.

G100s 10 ms less click latency. Huge improvement for railgun and LG. Better choice than WMO.

This, g100s is better than WMO, they both have bad build quality, but in the other aspects a g100s is better.

g100s, small, simple, good sensor, good button switches, using one for 1 year and still working good. If you buy one i recommend using it a lot for the first days weeks, so if it has some build problem it will appear sooner and you wont lose the warranty.
