"all the time" is a bit exaggerate, but yes I play some time to time, but even with my 5-10 matches & 2-3 hours of gametime a week I think I'm the most active TDM player of this roster (besides Eteto). TBH I was suprised that we signed up to this, s7ry asked me if we want to participate in this, but after all, I missed that part, that they decided to sign up. I don't know why we qualified as a div1 team over players/teams I see in div2, who (as far as I know) are pretty active in the game. We haven't played together for years(?), and some of us I think haven't even played "new" TDM maps. And new I mean Limbus, not even Ragnarok:D. I think feeder, s7ry and Gandhi played 10 hours of TDM gametime TOGETHER in the past year. I don't cry about this decision, or want to change anything, it just suprises me. Probably I won't show up for more than 1-2 games anyway, since I can't be persuaded anymore to cancel or reschedule any of my real life events for a Quake game. GL & HF everyone!
damn, that's dissapointing. But I must say I frowned when I saw your team in div1 (still got excited though).
Maybe it's better to ask for a swap with a div2 team, like WORLDSTAR or Onfire.
It would be fair for the competition. You guys deserve all the respect for being oldschool, but theres teams like Last Pick that are very very close to div1 imo. Maybe they just want to comfortably win div2 tho, who knows.
Well Gandhi, Wood and me are playing since the very beginning of the game. Feeder and s7ry came slightly later, but they are playing the game as well for 10+ years atleast. Wood had his prime era in the golden age of Quake (1999 - 2004). Mostly local LANs, but they won an international LAN in CZE too around 2002, also WCG quali winnings with such attenders as Polos, etc. Same goes for Gandhi, but he had his peak in the OSP & Q4 era, but also qualified as an Eurocup player, or a regular Nations Cup attender afterwards (which were pretty much the most notable offline Quake competitions for long) I was only 13 in 99, and proper net connection, or a stable PC which handled 85/125 fps were kinda rare back then. I started playing activly online in 2002, competitively from 2006 to 2014. Nothing major LANs, tho we had the chance and skill back then to take a shot, but we never stood the hussle to travel to Sweden or elsewhere for finishing with a lower prize money placing than half of the cost of the trip. I had many noticeable online placings / winnings with aCtion Ligan (based on a true story since 1999), the national team, with feeder in 2on2 tournaments, or with the short term formation Frontline (abso, wit, Frozen, Cooller). Anyway, I don't know why I write this little history here, I just had a quick flashback, and started to type these lines with a smile on my face, looking back on the good old days of Quake. Not like I would consider myself less "oldschooler" if I would play only in div4 for 17 years, but after I attended all the major online Quake events ESL, NC, EC, CBs, etc, etc, for like, what? 10years atleast! I don't know how can I get off the radar for someone who ever watched TDM competitions ;D. But well... I know for most ppl Quake means the Cooller - Rapha - Cypher triangle, which is well... good as it is.
Cool, didn't know you all have been playing for so long. I started playing Q3 in 2000, but for some reason didn't recognize any of the names from OSP - guess it's just because I was mainly playing CTF (NC, EC, OC, Jolt, Barrysworld) and not much TDM at the time, apart from some 2v2 scrims with Swedish teams like ic/aL/QPO/
EYE/etc. I actually played TDM on the same team with senti and purri at some point in ClanBase.. tons of memories coming back now, good times :)
yeah, too bad you guys never went to a big tdm lan, like QLAN, or one of the CB finals. You sure are a talented bunch I've always admired. I hope to see some action of you in this cup!
Well, excel/onfire should be in div3, nerds should be in div2 (we played pcw yesterday and it was pretty much equal so if we are in div2 they should be too), whylove in div2 and lastpick/b52 in div1. In my opinion.
IMHO, WHYLOVE and small dicks should be in DIV2, cause I'm not really sure they can actually cope with the lights of lp/WDSR/B52 teams =)
And nerds with their actual squad seem to be stronger than, for example, Burrito team, no? )
you mean divisions? Good balance is very hard in tdm and you also have the problem of the top 3-ish teams in div1 are head and shoulder above opposition and so nobody wants to play there coz it gets frustrating
i think div1 will go like this:
Team silencep will win it all by outaiming 102 coz overwatch.
102 will get 2nd by outthinking rehe, outrusking ash and outlaming gienon.
Rekt will get third coz i dunno the other teams GGNORE.
Team ins will get last place.
Dimention 4 will get 4th coz they have a 4 in their name.
It's hard to get pleasure from game when you gotta be stomped in div1 and made last hour mix for div2 without any plans to practice a lot to resist div1 teams.
Lower div will be more entertaining.
