I remember the demo call for this on the Reflex forums. In fact, here it is. From the trailer, it doesn't look like the movie or the people behind it do really give a fuck about competitive videogaming and instead decided to make some boring character piece (take Pearl Harbor and replace WW2 with espurts), with drama that's displayed to be 100x more ridiculous and dramatic while simultaneously being 100x more mundane and out of touch with the things which can actually take place in the competitive scene (like this, or any matchfixing scandal). Notice how fucking out of place the 3 seconds of game footage in the trailer are. I have the growing suspicion that Reflex is in this because it's a game that looks okay but is still so unknown that there's no licensing cost associated with using footage from it. Still good for the game to get some minimal amount of exposure (by the handful of people who read the credits, where the game's name will be mentioned).
I'm not sure whether the lack of fancy discoball mice and keyboards is due to them knowing that some high level afps players are still using wmos or whether that's just what they had lieing around.
it looks like it should of had a script that somebody wrote after watching breaking bad or better call saul dozens of times to understand how a drama movie would work. obviously a match fixing scandal in a movie like that would work but i dont know how that would work out.
Oh god, I loled so hard when the guy started slamming his keyboard like an idiot.
Then I got triggered by how they're using the other guy and the female in their film. So, like M1zzu says above, this probably is supposed to be like a character study, except that's very generous, almost like saying that Trump is playing 4D hypersonic interdimensional chess.
