Hi few people know me because of my suckiness in quake. The ones that do know me though know that I love it.

After over 6 months of not being able to play, unless I go to q3 bots.... i got angry tonight and raged on all 3 of my mice. Why am I telling you this? I figured some of you would get a kick out of it. And hell I need a place to vent my anger lol.

So come at me hard, let the trolling commence people! I want to feel that old ESR spirit lol...show some of your rage pics as well plz :p ....AND MOTHER FUCKING DAMNIT GUYS AND GALS, I MISS QUAKE LOL.

Which 3 mice did you break?
Maybe you subconsciously did this in-order to have an easier time putting gaming aside for a while so that you can focus more on real life?
I hope the mice you broke were shit, would be really sad to see something good go to waste like that.

Just broke my fourth wmo mouse.on my head again....think i will officially stop playing quake, even the bots ;:(((((

too much deperession etc, and the whole reason I did not play Quake recently is because of a lack of money anyway this is over $100 on WMO mice. Do what my boy Baksteen is, taking a huge break, even though i never amounted to anything that mattered :(

Take a month or two off. You need to realize that being emotional hurts your performance. Being nervous, afraid, angry, whatever, you gotta let it go. You said you never amounted to anything but it sounds like you're playing for the wrong reasons. I don't even want to think about how many hours I've played Quake. The only justification is that it brought me some happiness. So yeah, I haven't won a LAN, received any cash or prizes, but it's entertaining and can even be pretty funny when you play with the right people. Ignore egotistical players. You should only feel sorry for people who run their mouths in game. If you let them in your head and successfully piss you off then they've all ready won no matter the score. Remember that everybody loses. Everybody. Even cooller, rapha, cypher and they're some of the greatest players of all time. Squeeze a pillow or something don't destroy your hardware. TAKE IT EASY, MAN.

I feel you. I was 13 when I smashed my first gamepad. I threw my phone out of the window once and had a couple of mice, headphones and a keyboard broken with quake3/ql.
It never wears off, but it gets better with time.

Quake isn't life. Focus your time in being more productive in your real life. Workout, study, learn a new language, read more books etc. Millions of things to see and do. Quake should be a part of your life, but it shouldn't be all of it.

Just make gaming a hobby if you will. It can be a life goal of course if you want to eventually have a job in that sector. But make education and health your priority and then your hobbies after. That's what I'm doing at least ; )

I wouldn't quit Quake, I know losing sucks. I get the same way when I lose duels/ffa/etc. I don't go full hardcore, but I take my mouse and do a small slam on the desk with it... I seem to send my frusteration to the mouse.

But now, instead of raging, accept it as a learning experience of how not to fuck up next time.

I know I said don't quit Quake, but taking a little break would help, maybe even figure out how to release the anger in you in the meantime, because it may not be JUST quake.

with the amount of money you spent on mice you could have bought a wifi card and gone to a mcdonalds, starbucks or library for the free wifi.

you could have bought a pre payed wifi stick.

you could have paid the contract cost of a new cable line.

you could have bought a dial up modem and used one of the many free dial up services if you were desperate.

but you chose to buy mice and hit them with stuff. this is irrational behavior, please talk to someone there are many avenues for help.

Come on, man. You're better than this. If you can't change your attitude you need to stop playing. It's that simple. I'm starting to question your anger being rooted in Quake. If you have some real life troubles I think you should take care of them before gaming... because obviously it's not working out. How is destroying your hardware making anything better for yourself? You can't play Quake online and you miss the game because you don't have internet, but what about your phone, I don't know which model it is, but with my smartphone I can share the internet, if this is 4G it should be decent to play online sharing your connection.

I don't know how old you are or what you are generally interested in, but one thing is clear: there's room for maturity. Something to be very happy about! Still a lot to learn and see.

And of course you cannot image how he'd deal with "real life problems". But what you can do, is laugh about it :-). If you had experienced some sort of deep suffering yourself, you'd probably be more understanding. Again, since I don't know who you are and, most importantly, don't know whether I've interpreted your sentences correctly, please: don't be personally offended. It just hurts a part of me to see how alienated most people have become from an authentic and deep understanding of psychological/spiritual conflicts.

Really. I sometimes rage (reason is almost always computer-related) then I have to smash something. Usually old / scratchy / not-useful-anymore CD disks. Or punching the table or the keyboard (it's a really sturdy one).

But in my blindest fury, I can still control myself not to damage an object that's valuable for me. And yeah, I experienced deep suffering, going further, I have depression for 5 years now. I'm unmotivated and feeling exhausted all the damn time - and I'm pretty obsessive about certain things in general. This is just the tip of the ice berg, but I won't make threads about it on the internet or won't go into details, since NOBODY cares. Especially NOT on ESR.

Don't feel like that. There are tests you can take online to see if you fall somewhere on the autism spectrum... worth taking for you IMO.

I was undiagnosed for a long time. Had issues in real life because of it but mostly functional because I typically do well at any task assigned to me, especially if I'm being paid for it as I feel obligated to give it my best until I get super bored of it. But usually moved up in the world anyway because I was good at shit. But I was horrible at reading people. And it has caused me a lot of grief.

Now that I know I sort of have a better understanding of the differences between me and others. Some of the symptoms you are describing are common to people on the spectrum. Obsessive about certain things. Prone to fits of rage. Etc.

It's not all bad. There are always things you can do to improve your life.

I used to throw my mouse at the wall a lot when I used to play CS, but then when you look into getting better at games like this you come to realize raging is more detrimental than anything.

All the pros typical have pretty calm face besides k1llsen lol. Especially in duel, raging just makes me lose even harder. I think that is one of the reasons why I like Quake so much. It's taught me to keep cool even under really high pressure situations.

Either way, you remind me of that one retarded kid that tried sticking a TV remote up his ass when he went into a fit of rage when his Mom banned him from WoW or his account got deleted. Can't remember it's been too long lol
