100% this; expanding the boundaries of arena FPS like this game is one of the best things arena FPS can do to break out of its slump. The fact is that arena FPS needs to innovate in some way and introduce some kind of new mechanic to not feel like a rehash of what has been done before. The last thing arena FPS needs is another boring CPMA or Quake 3 clone down to every little detail, because why do that when you could just play those games. The fractal world mechanic is very unusual - but not in a bad way, it's unique and could lead to some unconventional map design. And I'm of the opinion that there's no such thing as a "bad idea", just poor implementation of a good idea.
Added to my wish list. Not going to bite at that price but I can see that some effort has gone into it. Spawning bots and geometry at will, changing gravity direction, etc. Not really an actual game but then again minecraft is in the same category. It's educational.
Cool idea, looks very interesting. Not sure what it'd be like to play "competitively," though. Hard to imagine how the game might play when you're really experienced with the mechanics.
Also, definitely not spectator friendly. Wrinkles my brain just looking at the trailer. Trying to follow an actual competitive match is probably like getting your mind melted.
