Aye, spiders can be nasty things. You should keep a baseball bat under your bed, that way you can take out even really large spiders. The ones you really have to worry about are the SUPER INHUMAN INVISIBLE SPIDERS!! They can get you and you can't see them...

Use the vacuum cleaner, just take the foot off so you can stay as far away as possible in case it starts running :p. If you crush it you risk leaving a black mark on your wall. They tend to move a lot so better deal with it asap next time, it really could be anywhere in your room and it probably still is in that room :>

PS. I've had them falling on my bed from the wall and chasing me thru the house. And i wonder... if an ant can bite thru your skin so can that spider, no?. Sleep tight!!

Spiders are fine. I'm not scared of them, because I was the one saving them from my niece for over a year when I was living with my brother. But I never kill them, I catch them in glass and put them outside. Spider is more afraid of you than you are of him.

Edit: LOL at my self.. I said "saving them from my niece" instead of "saving my niece from them", I guess it goes both ways.. hehe.. :)

I can't help but want to move away when I see spiders IRL, but that's probably just my speciesist mom's early influence ;) Spiders are cute ^^ Especially wolf spiders...omg, so many babies getting piggyback ride!! Cuuuuuute! :D And the way the moms keep the egg sac near regardless of where they go--how many human mothers are that careful and have that kind of devotion?

Spiders are not only sentient, but intelligent and self-conscious. To kill one is ethically unacceptable. Rather than taking our prejudices for granted as absolute, objective truths, we should try to reason about them on an intellectual level, perhaps fight them on an emotional level, and always strive to act in fair and logical ways.

And don't automatically dismiss countering emotional bias, as it really can be useful. It is one thing to act on something one knows, and sometimes another to act on something one has realized. Besides, you may be able to sleep more easily ^^
