i love pj too but theirs no way imo that they are better than nirvana. not only musically. but the impact they had on the music scene is undeniable.

pearl jam were and are way better than nirvana musically, and about the impact: bands like alice in chains, soundgarden, pearl jam, nirvana and stone temple pilots have been around at pretty much the same time, it was just a matter of hype that let nirvana outshine the rest a bit.
and you know the third reason why pj > nirvana? eddie vedder didnt blast his head off :)

at least nirvana went out without making one bad album or even song imo.....cant say that about PJ...if Nirvana wasnt there you would never have even heard about PJ..+ nirvana is probably the biggest influence ever to the biggest bands these days like the vines.

i am sure i would've heard of pj even without nirvana. but in the end, it is all a matter of taste.
of course nirvana are a huge influence to a lot of bands, but i think it's kinda unfair to give them all the credit for a music that more than just one band created at the same time.

but as is said, a matter of taste, no reason to argue about this thing, because both bands are great in their own way

yeah sure...nirvana is seen as the band which invented grunge...but bands like soundgarden were already developing it..just because nirvana was the biggest band they got the credit for it..which indeed is a bit lame..altho no grunge band really sounded/sounds alike :o
