I don't think so (well, mine certainly isn't). Someone I know has a 'water blister' type thing on his wrist (probably from archery) but that doesn't sound much like a ganglion cyst either.

is that gfx card any good?

I'm waiting to install the gfx card in my PC at home, I have only tried it in China and at DreamHack. At DreamHack I was using the card for 3 days, so I had a pretty good chance to try it out. For the first time I was able to play Quake 4 with 60 FPS which was awsome, I could actually play on servers with more than 1 ppl. :P Also, it's nice and quite. :)

at what resolution and quality mode? also were you playing an fps map with tweaked settings or default stuff? i checked a few benchmarks and the S3 Chrome 27 or something like that didnt come close to a 6600, leave alone a 6600GT. However if it can get a stable 60 fps in q4 at a decent resolution and detail level it should be a nice budget card :)

I played both FPS maps and the original maps and I didn't have FPS drops. :D

Spread the words of gaming then so more girls get into playing FPS games and the difference will even out. :)

why would you want more girls to play video games? is this to fill some sort of need for token representation? and particularly FPS games. maybe you want to get more girls playing your game so your sponsors will be happy, or maybe you want to do it so you won't feel any pressure, even though you're asking for all sorts of attention.

I don't have a point, or even believe what I've said, but I'm only analyzing here why you're actively encouraging 'girls to play FPS games.'

The cynic in me would think it would have something to do with an untapped market to increase hardware sales.

The optimist in me would like to think its more about promoting FPS to the female crowd so they can experience the same fun we all do and not think that its just a game type for the boys.

I think girls don't get how awsome FPS games are. If they knew about the competition side of the games and got some introduction to the games I'm sure many would love it. When I was younger I played basketball and soccer pretty serious and I think computer gaming is much the same ingrediences. You have teamplay, you have training to improve your invidual skills, you have tactics to learn and ofc as in sport you will improve if you practice, practice, practice! If you like to do sports I think it's a big chance you will like e-sports too.

Supporting female gamers, as well as male gamers, is a form of advertising and marketing, and you have to imagine that the potential market is greater in the female population at this point then it is in the male population which has already been tapped. Seeing female gamers get more exposure will make more girls give the game a chance perhaps.

Yeah there are those who are going to go out of their way to try every little thing that falls into their niche, and then relay their experiences through some media of one type or another and that may get through eventually but seriously, you obviously have a problem with the way commercialism works, but for better or worse marketing and such do exist and will continue to exist as long as there is money to be made disgusting or not. I think it's a bad thing in a number of ways, actually. First of all, because I don't care about gaming that much, and anybody that does is, IMHO, retarded. But don't pay any attention to that. I never said it was a bad thing. I'm only saying that anyone who focuses solely on a particular group is biased or selfish. And in this instance we're talking about some random chick who happens to play video games, not a CEO or an advertising exec.

Then there are other (long term) aspects, imagine if as many girls started playing as boys. The gaming scene would be twice as big. Twice as big means more attention to gaming, that means more money into gaming, more tournaments, more prize money. One thing I REALLY would like to have in the future in europe, is a television channel that shows important games, just like they do with sports. But for me personal, I guess I don't think about the long terms aspects that much, I'm just beeing egoistic and want more girls to be around to resamble the life I have when I'm not on the computer. :P

That's selfishness speaking. As I said above, regardless of sex, if one finds a game to be enjoyable, then they will play it. And if they're interesting in 'professional gaming,' then they will pursue that.

You should try to get people to play the games who want to play the game, not discriminize based upon a particular group.

more people in pc gaming is always a good thing, regardless of whether they are a girl or not. girls are still people, therefore the more girls we get into gaming, the more people we'll have.

and even if trito is trying to take over the world with her all-girl gaming league, good on her, for it will only equal another line of competition, and that's the best thing about pc gaming, the ever-growing competition.
