DreamHack and 2GD announce the Quakelive TONY FFA Special for DreamHack Summer 2011 with a total prize purse of 10,000 SEK.
DreamHack and 2GD are proud to present the TONY FFA Special to the Swedish gamers. After witnessingTONY's uncontested Quake FFA skills at the Ultimate Gaming Championships, it was obvious that TONY needed to go international. The amount of Quake players and competition in Italy alone just isn't enough for TONY. Even if TONY was to take on the whole of Italy in a FFA match while simultaneously raising his beautiful baby daughter, being the worlds best husband/ fantastic lover, It still wouldn't be a Challenge for poor TONY. Fact, he did and won. Which is why we're bringing TONY to DreamHack Summer, Sweden, the world's largest gaming LAN to see if we can find TONY some competition. Probably not. But were doing it anyway!

satan_inside from Church of Frag just released a new movie after Spirit of Frag. This new video is called deKontamination. The editing feels well, the music fits the pace and the frags, without being impressive, does the job.
After a hard struggle, i'm proud to present my new movie! :D
As with any of my movies, I tried a lot of things different here:
- almost perfectly set up wolfcam, took ~7 hours (thanks to KittenIgnition, fraggedIce and olls3n)
- rendering lossless and make it smaller with meGUI (thanks to antii's guide)
- different music (thanks to my metal-loving clanmates)
- way more picky about the scenes (thanks to anyone who complained on earlier Movies ;p)
I'm extremely happy with the final result. While I still see different aspects to improve (I'm looking at you wolfcam and your bugginess when I want to make cams!), I'm also pretty confident it turned out ass-kicking overall. Hope you think the same. ^^
Additionally, the wolfcam setup orgy left me with a way to record easy and fast now, so I may end up doing more movies now.

The IEM Season V World Finals are taking first step tomorrow morning at 03:30 CST. Sadly again, nobody on ESReality used the Contribute link to try and write a preview of the competition. But a few writers from the community shared their thoughts about the Group Stage through various websites.
Over at TEK9, Bcrbo put up another great piece where it's hard to see any top3 emerging and questioning the format of the tournament.
On FNATIC.com, frequency reviewed the two groups and their favorites, without putting too much focus into the team's players.
And finally on ESFI World, d1ngdong released the 3rd part of his Quakelive preview which is dedicated to Cooller, rapha and dandaking. The 4th and last part should come shortly!
Update: Better late than never, SwitchbacK posted his preview on SK Gaming during the night!

The second part of the IEM5 Quakelive Finals preview by ESFI World has just been published yesterday. This new piece focuses on Group A, and more specifically on fazz, strenx and av3k.
Here is a short excerpt of the little conclusion on strenx:
The majority of Quake fans will have no second thoughts in placing their bets on Baeza finishing in the top three to advance out of this group [...]. Along with Av3k, the pair seem like locks to move on, and it's not a stretch to have strenx at the very top above Av3k.

The 71st ZOTAC QL Duel Cup is taking place this Sunday. Last week saw the return of the party animal spart1e, taking the croissant out of strenx's mouth during the Final!
The preview of the IEM5 World Finals already started at ESFI World. For each day left until the beginning of the competition, they will review the chances of 3 competitors from SC2, CS and QL. The first part of this preview series is covering Quakelive with 3 duelers from Group B: Cypher, spart1e and czm.
Here is a short excerpt of Cypher's intro:
To put it simply, Alexey 'Cypher' Yanushevsky is one of the top three favorites to win the IEM 5 World Championships. Anyone not betting on Cypher to finish in the podium would need to in turn bet against a plethora of supporting evidence that says he won't disappoint.
Head yourself off to ESFI World for the real thing.

This only concerns Halo: Reach and StarCraft 2.
Also, the meaning of global in this case is "the UK, Germany, France, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil as well as in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe". That part of the world will be handled by IMG, said his president Michel Masquelier.
Thanks to Slasher and SyncError, chances are QuakeLive won't be harmed! ; ]
