Teamkillers vs. Quakeklan (Fixture)

Their last encounter during the qualifications ended in favour of Teamkillers. I also expect a very tight set of games this time around, and any map could end in any team’s favour. This is one game where the form of the day for each player could be very crucial. On paper, I’d say Quakeklan got the strongest team, but they also seem to perform very unstable, while Teamkillers really have got some consistency into their teamplay lately thanks to hard work and dedication. That is the reason why I’d hold Teamkillers as a slight favourite over 3 maps, but that could quickly change if one of Quakeklans key players has a really good day.

Possible highlights:
- Squeeze with lightning gun, 130 ms ping and quad, wrecking havoc on DM3.
- Riker in good shape.

Suddendeath vs Slackers (Fixture)
Scheduled: Sunday 9th January 19:00CET

This could quickly turn into the highlight of the day. Both of these teams are considered to be among the best, with both highly skilled players, and good routine and teamplay. Their last encounter ended in 3-2 favour to Slackers, but many speculated that the reason for that was because the somewhat more unknown maps, CMT1b and CMT4, were included in the map pool. I still think it would naïve to hold Suddendeath as favorites here, especially due to the difference in amount of practice these teams have had lately, with Slackers playing almost every day the last weeks, and Suddendeath only sporadically playing some maps. Still, if Suddendeath have a good day, I wouldn’t be utterly surprised if an upset happened here.

Possible highlights:
- Slackers general teamplay and solid play, they for sure won't cut the opponents any slack!
- Glimpses of brilliance from Suddendeaths creative and skilled players.
- Reppie coming out of retirement?!
