<b>DAY 2</b>

We woke up and made it to the tournament area by 12:00pm. Now I talked to Syn and told him how I have to play my Call of Duty matches and how I won’t be able to play my group matches until they are done. He is cool with it and talks to the head CoD admin and he is also cool with it.

So I head over to the Riviera where the CoD was scheduled to take place, but what is a schedule? I mean, CXG has never heard of one anyway. On my way over there, I overheard a conversation with Mitch (the cod admin) and Joe Hill (organizer of cxg) “Pshsshshhshshsh … counter-strike is canceled, I sick of dealing with this shit pshshsh” I hear this from Joe hill, I am SHOCKED. Clearly I must have heard things wrong, no way CXG would cancel their main event, right? I mean the sponsors, the teams that spent all the money to get here, the euros who spent even MORE money, and all the sponsors of the teams themselves, I must of heard things wrong. Shortly after hearing this I get a call “DOOD MARK THEY JUST CANCLED THE CS TOURNAMENT” holy shit im thinking, there is going to be a riot, someone is going to get hurt, or even shot (for real this time). There is a lot more to details of CS being canceled but im keeping this geared towards q3, if anyone wants to add to the CS part, comment it and ill see what I can do.

I get back to the stardust and meet my CoD team, we played our first match then, (now around 4pm) the q3 tournament actually started, being even more delayed. We started playing 24 hours worth of matches in 8 hours time. Match after Match keeps happening, best of 3 here best of 3 there, intense games by everyone, upsets happening and clutch shots taking place all over. Now 10:00pm rolls around and we finally finish our SECOND CoD game, now by 10:00pm on Saturday, we were supposed to be down to the final 2 CoD teams, and at this point there are still 8 teams left in the tournament. I start playing my Quake 3 matches.

First I played n!justin where I won 2-0. Now my next opponent is ve-elpajou. I go to Syn and ask him where he is, I can’t find him anywhere. Syn is now frustrated out of his mind, because there is still 18 hours worth of tournament play left and we technically have to finish it in about 60 minutes. Now Syn tells me that I receive a forfeit win over elpajou, I thought of how shitty this was for him, because he, like the rest of us, waited all day to play, but at this point I just didn’t care anymore, this tournament has already been the most strenuous one of ive ever been to. So now technically, I am 6-0 in the group, ZeRo4 is 5-2, and elpajou is 5-3. I have to play ZeRo4 now. Now I figured how much elpajou is a threat, after watching him dominate everyone he’s played, and I know that ZeRo4 has to beat me 2-0 to advance, meaning if I were to beat him on a single map, he would not advance, and elpajou would. So I make it known to myself, and him, that im just going to let him beat me both maps so me and him advance and elpajou doesn’t, knowing that I have a chance against ZeRo4, knowing how he plays a lot now, but not against elpajou so much. So he picks his map, t4, and I pick mine, dm6. we start t4, he gets some kills, and I basically just start rushing him, we’re having fun, trying to pummel each other, air rocket, rail for rail in the eyes, fucking around. Next thing I hear behind me Syn telling me that elpajou is here and that I have to play him after ZeRo4. Now I am pissed, I was told that I had a forfeit win over him so I setup throwing 2 games to John. I now have to win dm6 and ztn or im basically screwed. We start playing dm6, I get up 8-0 at the by the 9:00 mark, and after a mega fight john hill shoots a hail marry rocket to the lg entrance from the sg entrance going up to ra, and it nails me, I died. I lost control and basically john came back to win. The frustration im feeling is just intense, and I won’t start flaming anyone, so let’s move on.

It’s getting close to 2:00am now, and I have to play elpajou. I am so god damn tired, I can barely keep my eyes open at this point, vie played so much, ran around so much and have had so little sleep in the past 24 hours that it really started to effect me, as everyone else being in the exact same boat. Me and elpajou play and he beats me 2-0. One on dm6 and one on t4. He advances, ZeRo4 advances, and I’m eliminated. GREAT! *sigh*. Some more matches in ground B still need to be played, so we didn’t get out of the tournament area until 3:30am. Syn tells us we have to be in the tournament area by 9:15am ON THE DOT or else he’s going to start forfeiting people. So now we’ve had about 4-5 hours sleep, 10 total in 2 nights, and we have to play MORE MATCHES.
