The very first EuroCup was a Quake3 TDM Only EuroCup, no Counter Strike, No Unreal tournament, it was Q3 only.

Big names at that moment such as post Morthem, Unreal, Four Kings, motal Teamwork, ocrana, Schroet Kommando, Eyeballers, Vikings, Ars Moriendi, Demonic Core, TuLLs and much more top clans were invited for the first Q3DM EuroCup and also the first EuroCup.
In this first EuroCup had also lan finals, that was at that moment very special. The scene wasnt so professional yet and there were not much tournaments on lan with prizes.

On 23rd February 2000, the first official EuroCup started with a very interesting <a href="http://www.clanbase.com/ec_opening.php">Opening Ceremony</a> by OdB's SnoiD, and so it begin. The best clans from Europe started to play eachother on the net, broadcasted on QTV(Quake-TV), the four best clans were secured of free trip to Holland, to lan finals in a film studio in Hilversum.
The clans with a good chance of making it to the lan finals were TuLLs, Ars Moriendi, Four Kings, Momento Mori, Eyeballers, Legacy of the Mob, Schroet Kommando.

In the playoffs, EYE was to strong for lm and earned a ticket to the first lan finals, SK defeated 4K in a pretty easy 3 mapper game, Arsi Moriendi over Momento Mori in 4 maps and TuLLs over Ocrana, ocr that later became 2 time champion of the prestige Cup as Unmatched.

The lan final list was Schroet Kommando & TuLLs from the European conferences and from the Scandinavian conferences it was the Finnish clan Ars Moriendi & Swedish clan Eyeballers.
So it started, the first lan finals of the CB EuroCup, TuLLs had to kick off vs Ars Moriendi, the Itallian top clan couldnt bring much in to this game, the clan from Finland was way to strong and won all maps pretty easy (3-0).
The other match was between EYE and SK, now in the year 2004 they have succeed a lot in many diffrent games, but at that moment it were simple clans with only a few squads. The match at the first lan finals of the CB EuroCup ended in a very thrilling 3 mapper game, SK won all maps with a small frag diffrence.

In the next round of the Winnerbrackets, AM was meeting SK, in the loserbracket it was EYE meeting the TuLLs.
The match between AM and SK was again extremly close and this very first lan final already showed how interesting Quake3 can be, it was a tight game, the very old maps q3dm6(not pro-q3dm6 or dm6tmp) and q3dm8 were played in this close game. AM came out as winner by defeating SK in 5 maps, 3:2.

The other meeting in the lower bracket, between EYE and TuLLs ended in a 3:1 win for EYE, that played with Treble, litzter, evenflow, firehoppir. Win the pretty easy win of EYE over the TuLLs, EYE is ready to take on SK again and this game ended in a history game, a game that all the people who were active at that moment still remember. The history match were litzter did the insane thing that no one ever did before him, making 70 frags on one map, and bring the win to his team, the Eyeballers, EYE won with only 1 frag diffrence! download the insane demo from <a href="http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=10576...lt;/a>.
EYE won the game with 3:1 and had to play AM, Ars Moriendi in the Grand final of the very first ClanBase Q3DM EuroCup.

The AM vs EYE match - AM won this game with 3:0, that doesnt mean it was an easy win for the clan from Finland, at the first map, q3dm8, AM won with 178 : 171. The Second map, q3dm6, AM won with only 10 frag diffrence, 179 : 169. The last map and also the last map of the first EC, q3dm8, AM won with a 12 frag diffrence, 167 : 155.

This made Ars Moriendi the first Q3DM EuroCup winners.<blockquote>1. Ars Moriendi
