- Everybody needs to play 10 pickup games before the tournament, in order to be able to signup to the tournament. You can check how many games are remaining on your profile at QLStats for #tdmpickup.
- Eat before the tournament. Delaying whole tournament because of one person grabbing junkfood sucks.
- Do not add if you can't even play 3 rounds. You can not assume being eliminated after a round or two. Add only if you have a free evening, thanks!
- Be ready to use voice communication. Install and configure TeamSpeak 3 before the tournament day. If you're shy or cannot speak English, at least join and listen.
- If you leave the channel before the teams are posted, you will be removed from the tournament.

Hoonymode is a novel form of 1v1 play, loosely based on tennis rules.
All in-game behaviour (weapons, physics, items, etc) remains the same
as standard DM: the change is in how the game progresses from one frag
to the next.

During warmup, two spawnpoints are chosen by the players. One will
typically be a "stronger" spawn and the other "weaker". When the game
begins, these are where the players will spawn, with the strong spawn
considered the equivalent of having the "serve".

Each player death (regardless of source, i.e. a suicide is considered
a kill for the opponent) is treated as a distinct point. After a point
is scored, play does not continue as in DM: instead, the players and
the arena are reset, and a new point is contested for. Players switch
spawnpoints at this time, so the player who had the weak spawn for the
previous point now has the strong one, effecting a change of serve.
Players are given a few seconds between points to reconsider strategies
etc.

Games are played to a point limit, with the clock not being a factor.
A player must reach that limit and be at least two points clear of
his opponent to win, i.e. in a 5-point game, 5-4 is a lead not a win:
the player still needs another point to clinch it.


Implementation Specifics:


Players claim a spawnpoint by moving near it and using the spawn
command (via console/bind/etc).

Referees can choose spawnpoints for players by using "spawn <pid>"
(Players can also use this when playing bots).

Players are not FORCED to choose a spawnpoint: spawns will be random (not recommended).

All players are responsible for setting up their own matches against their opponents.
Please try and finish your matches you have a month to play four or five people.

In order to participate in the Targetquake events, the player must have a valid account on the Tourney.cc site.

It is forbidden for participants to play with a smurf game account if they cover up their known synonym. Using a smurf account will result in a disqualification
All players must play with the Quake Live accounts listed in the Players section or they will be removed from the league.

All players must play on N.A. servers in which there pings are as close as possible. Please respect all opponents while playing.
All players must record there correct scores after finishing there matches in a timely manor.

Sign ups:
Hop on chat about 30mins before we kick off and type !signup to get placed in the list. The list will be sorted by ELO before matches start to compensate for known skill differences. After matches start, the list will be played out as-is (first come first serve).

Matches:
First match will have a !coinflip for map pick. 1 map is played each round, with the winner carrying forward and the loser dropping out of the event. The next player on the list is brought in to challenge, and gets map pick. The map pool is rather loose, just use your common sense for what a decent duel map would include. Admins will get to veto anything deemed to damn silly or dumb (dm17, ctf maps, etc).
