13 Dec: The one true Quake Legend by Warrant

In this stage, players will be able to apply for the position of team captain for their respective nations. They can do this, by using the designated menublock on the right side of the cup page.

Please keep in mind that your application should be well motivated. All players will be able to see who applied for their own nation by using the menublock, mentioned above. This stage will run until 6th of January. No applications will be taken into consideration after this day.

Once all the applicants are known, players will be able to vote for their favourite candidate. There are few details to which we would like you to pay special attention. First of all, once you have voted, you cannot vote again or change your previous vote. Second, an applicant cannot vote for himself and third, when voting, you will be asked to motivate your vote. We would like to ask you to take this seriously.

All votes are kept anonymous. This stage will run until the 13th of January . In the end, the cup supervisors will determine the captains.

After the votes have been taken into consideration, the cup supervisors will announce all team captains on Wednesday 16th of January.

We again are using the voting system to elect national team captains. The system is very simple: Anyone who would like to apply as captain for his nation can fill in the short application form which appears on the menublock on the right hand side of each cup. Of course, you are still expected to gather enough support from the community - just instead of documented support, you will have to achieve it on the voting process on ClanBase.
The first stage for applying as captains will close on Sunday, 6th of January. The next stage will be the voting process - which will commence once the captains signups have closed. This section will end on Sunday, 13th of January. Any user is able to vote only one time for one candidate. The voting process is anonymous to ensure a safe election. In some cups we may close the signups a bit earlier if we see there are no new candidates and/or that a substantial amount of votes have been cast.
At the final stage the selected captain will be chosen by the cup supervisors with the help of the National Team Managers. They will be chosen according to the support (votes and comments), application and record of the applicant. Previous season captains don't get selected automatically and still have to apply. The captains announcement for each cup will be on Wednesday, 16th of January.

We will again be cooperating with the National Team Managers this season. In case you are new or if you have forgotten already - the task of the National Team Manager is to maintain and establish a competitive list of squads which will participate in the NationsCups by monitoring the different captains, teams and acting as a link between the teams and the CB Crew where needed.
We are currently processing the applications we have received and will be adding a few new Managers in the course of next week. We are glad to see many have also stayed with us for yet another season after doing it successfully last time. You can see who is your own National Team Manager in here.
As last time, we will use only one clan for each nation this season as well. If you are elected as team captain - contact your team Manager to be added to the national clan.

The rules for who is allowed to play or not have not been majorly altered since the last season. Players are still only allowed to play for a nation if they have the nationality of it. We will take severe measures against any player, captain or team which have a hand in faking nationalities.
Like in the previous season, we have set the date for a clan to be considered as "active" for the 3 player rule to the first day of the OpenCup/EuroCup Fall Season. This year this date is: 8th of October 2012. More about the rule can be found in our NationsCups Rules FAQ. Exceptions may apply after consulting with the Supervisors of the cup.

Noctis started his pro gaming career with Quake III, when he managed to come fifth at the ESWC Masters Paris in 2008. That year was followed by more high ranked placings in tournaments such as DreamHack Winter and GameGune.

It was Quake Live when Noctis really started to make a name. He managed to win several online events, and registered himself as one of the best in TDM, grabbing high placings in events such as the ESL Major Series and QuakeCon. Even though he has no real major duel titles to his name, he has always been a top contender for every event he participated in.

The Austrian's biggest achievement was a third place at the ESL Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge Dubai, and he also placed high in several DreamHack tournaments and ESL IEM Gamescom.

Sander Kaasjager is seen as one of the greatest Dutch players ever. Vo0 is the most explosive cpm players, got his shot at the big time when fnatic's CEO sold his car to send him to the USA to play Painkiller in the CPL. After this the boom of Painkiller followed, and Sander was at the right place, winning over $220,000 in 2005 alone. He was beaten in the Grand Final by Fatal1ty, but he still went into the books as the greatest Painkiller player ever.

When Painkiller got dropped for Quake IV, Vo0 made a short stint in the game but decided to drop very soon in the game's history.
He focused on his studies for some years, but made a successful comeback to gaming by representing Fnatic's World of Warcraft squad alongside 2GD and Ztrider.

Quake Live came out in 2008 and Vo0 was still playing, but not as active as during his Painkiller years. He still managed to get a seventh place at QuakeCon 2008 and a third and fourth place consequently at the Intel Extreme Masters American Championships.

At the tender age of sixteen, Cypher made his first real breakthrough. The now 22 year old won the ESWC Belarus Qualifier, taking him to the ESWC Grand Finals in Paris to face the best in Quake IV. An impressive second place launched his career to become one of the most well known and best Quake players ever.

Quake IV brought him titles such as winning KODE5 Russia and ASUS Summer, as well as a second and third place at WSVG stops. With the return of Quake III, more success followed. Two ESWC victories and several ASUS tournaments were won by the young Belarussian.

Quake Live brought the greatest success for Cypher, winning tournaments such as several ASUS tournaments, the Intel Extreme Masters European Finals, QuakeCon and various DreamHacks. Now, after having represented the likes of Fnatic, Serious Gaming and Razer, Cypher plays for Millenium, both in Quake Live and ShootMania.

Av3k's career paralleled that of Cypher. Everything started with Quake IV at a very young age. He placed high in several tournaments like QuakeCon, Netgamez, WCG, ESWC and many more. He was widely considered to be one of the best players in Quake IV, alongside fellow FACEIT: Legends Cup invitee, tox.

Once Quake III came back, the Polish player's success stopped coming at such a high rate. However, several tournaments were still won, or he challenged for a top place. A DreamHack and GameGune win highlight his career, but also a third place at two ESWC events are part of his CV.

During his Quake Live career he won two major titles, DreamHack Summer 2010 and QuakeCon 2011 TDM with Salivating Monstahz. Most recently Av3k placed a shared third and fourth place at Adroits, as well as at DreamHack, after which he announced his retirement of Quake LAN tournaments. He is still part of Millenium's ShootMania team, together with Cypher and keep3r.
