1. This tournament will be played one versus one (1v1)

3. The bracket will be single elimination

This week FACEIT will be running two Quake Live duel cups. The first one is set to take place this evening at 14:00 CST, with check-ins opening at 13:00 CST. The FACEIT QL Thursday Special will have $20 available, distributed from the first till eighth place. You can already sign-up for the cup on the FACEIT website.

"So far ShootMania has been very fun for me. It's been refreshing to learn a new fps game and it's been a blast playing it with my teamates id_ and cl0ck. A nice change of pace compared to me mostly just dueling in Quake. We've been putting in a lot of time to get prepared for IPL and we've been making strides rather quickly and I'm very pleased with our progress. Going to be interesting to see where we stand in 3-4 weeks when it's time to go to IPL."

Tournament system: All games are Bo3 with pick, pick

After every pickup game, the bot also announces balanced teams according to #tdmpickup statistics. The bot also holds IRC name -> QL name mapping list, so when the bot thinks you are unranked, just let some OP know about your QL nickname and he will add the mapping for your IRC -> QL name. If you are still considered unranked (probably because you didn't play any pickup game yet), the bot will announce two best players as captains and regular picking follows (cointoss/pummel and 1-2-2-1). Rules can be found on #tdmpickup website.

With command !sub you are now able to replace a player in last announced pickup and create new auto-teams with the bot.
Usage:
!sub <old player> - replaces the old player with yourself
!sub <new player> - replaces you with the new player
!sub <old player> <new player> - replaces old player with new player

Next to regular pickup, we added so called elite pickup, where only people with rating 20 or higher are able to add. The rating is taken from #tdmpickup QLStats website. It's there just to enrich the pickup and make pickup games more diverse. It's not there to replace regular pickup and we still want everyone to play regular pickup as well. In upcoming days/weeks we will see if it was good idea or not and then decide if we keep it, remove it or change the rating limit. Please note that if some player keeps playing elite pickup only, it will eventually result in lowering his rating so much, that he won't be allowed to play elite anymore, since it's much more difficult to keep high rating in elite games only.

This feature is still work in progress, but so far, the bot is able to take registrations for the tournament and create the teams according to QLStats rating. The only limit to be able to sign up for the tournament is to be considered active by QLStats, which means, you have to play at least 10 pickup games.
