Only two weeks separate us from the highly anticipated Dreamhack 2012 event, which makes this week's zotac the penultimate online cup for attendees to practice, although everyone else who would like to try their luck to obtain the 100€ prize is welcome, beginners and veterans alike. Some of the Rising stars will test their skills before the cup, including

Stermy will not be able to attend since he's attending to the ShootMania LAN in France. Neither can

gerppa but because of other reasons.

As replacements we've found a bunch of Swedish players:

ani. We also invited

Hipnotic. There's still one spot open in the tournament, all the replacements we've currently asked no one of them was able to go. So if you're still interested in going contact us either through mail (esport@dreamhack.se) or

#Dreamhack.Quake (message blaze or slayzah) on QuakeNet as soon as possible.

The applications for the beta test of Shootmania Storm have been opened for a little while already, but the game still hasn't reached that phase.

Anyway, the guys from Nadeo just offered us, the ESReality community, a few keys to participate in the Alpha test of their coming game. Of course, we don't have an unlimited amount of keys for you all and we will have go through a selection.

If you are interested, please write a message (in English and comments in this news won't be considered!) and tell us about you, your achievements and projects in the community and why you'd want in the alpha test! Deadline is set for Sunday 3rd June at midnight CEST.

The first SUPINFO Outstanding Players Arena event will be held in

Paris at the SUPINFO Paris school from the 15th to the 17th June 2012.

The event will feature the finals of the Esports Université on Starcraft 2 and League of Legends. Also 2 open LAN tournaments on Counter Strike: Source and Shootmania, in Alpha version, are planned. This will be the first tournament for the new game from Nadeo and, so far, the tournament structure and rules are not finalized.

The sign-ups for the LAN tournaments are already open, and the list of the signed up teams is already available.

After 1.5 years of intense development Warsow 0.7 will be released to the public very soon, and

Falconer has put together a release cup for the new version.

The cup will take place on the 23rd of June 2012, with sign-ups opening on June 1st. The tournament will consist of a Double Elimination Bracket for up to 64 players. The matches will be played in Best of 3 with a Best of 5 Grand Final. A prize purse of 200 Euro awaits the Top 4 players of this tournament.

In somewhat delayed news, a new semi-competative first person shooter Shootmania Storm is now available to selected beta testers. Undeterred by a lack of public consensus on the unreleased game, some players have already chosen to invest their time in it.

Based on previous community reports it is a slower than Quake, open terrain, kind of a game. On the other hand, popular gaming media reports the developer intends it be a "pure" FPS.
A whole experience system could have been implemented into Trackmania, but a game based on skill is more interesting for the people we like to play with. With Shootmania, it’s the same thing. It’s based on skill. There are no RPG mechanics. We want to make it as pure as possible.
