The Episode 7 of the animated Quake Series "ARENAS" by Tritin Multimedia has been released today

The Czech guys from Czech Quake and Grunex announced tonight that the QuakeLive tournament they will hold in Czech Republic Prague at the beginning of September will see its TDM cup replaced with a Duel cup. The LAN itself is still supposed to take place at the Battle Zone café on the 12th of September!

The prizes are up to a total of 500€ in cash and tickets for Aqua Palace and Kart Areal, but the organizers are still working on rising this number if the sign-ups are going well. So far, 64 slots are planned for the tournament which should be run through a group stage and a double brackets with bo3 matches. The maplist used should be the same as QuakeCon'09.

The winner of eswc ESWC Masters of Athen, QuakeCon 2009 and the IEM4 Cologne Global Challenge, United States of America Shane "rapha" Hendrixson has been interviewed by fragster.de Fragster.de right after his victory at GamesCom. He speaks about the final, where he managed to defeat his opponent Austria Richard "noctis" Gansterer, his play style and more.
Fragster: If I'm right the fifth map would have been dm6. A map which you lost to spart1e at QuakeCon. Do you think that you would have been able to take it against noctis?
rapha: [...] noctis is a very good dm6-player, very unique style. Nobody else plays it like him and I think it would have been a very tight game. It would have come down to who handles their nerves the best, I think.

It's been a while since fragster.de Fragster.de had their last fan special with a Quake player. Back then the people could ask no one else than Germany Marcel "k1llsen" Paul whatever they wanted to know. Now you got the chance to do the same with the Swedish quake player Sweden Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira, who recently joined the fnatic organization.

So if you ever wanted to know why he still managed to lose the QuakeCon final after a 2:0 lead, or what happened to his former organization Frag Dominant. Don't hesitate, just ask him, but be fast, since the fan special is going to stop this upcoming thursday.

Hello everyone, here it is: A Quake 4 highlights fragmovie created by Germany qah-kane. This movie contains highlights of Quake 4 TDM, CTF and 1v1. I was working with Suffering on this movie but for some reasons i had to end it myself, it took quite a long time for me to finish the movie but i enjoyed it alot gg :D

Iefnaij will take on Suny in a best of three on Heartbreak Ridge, Outsider, and Destination, while iNcontroL will be facing Fancy in a best of three on Destination, Colosseum 2, and Heartbreak Ridge.

NetherlandsSC_ZergSC_Terran Ret has been on vacation and just recently left to BlizzCon, he’ll return to his show matches after he arrives back in his home country.

The guys from Quake.cz Czech Quake are back with some more Sunday action and the two following QuakeLive.cz Quake Live tournaments for you:
- Duel Cup #4 is dedicated to all European Players, and players from CZ/SK who already got their "License" and are therefore banned from Open Tournaments.

- Czech Quake Open is the tournament that allows Czech and Slovakian players to get a License. The License allows them to join Czech Quake Pro League which will provide a total of 500€ cash prize. Winner will take 250€, second 175€ and third 75€.

QCZ will welcome players such as Belgium burn3d, Germany Fanatic, Sweden ahzaz, Poland Mad or Hungary Dark in the Duel Cup #4. Belgium burn3d will attempt to reach another 1st rank, but Czech Republic Hawr1x and his amazing Grenades and Gauntlet skillZ will be a tough opponent! ( GG skillZ )

A new round of challengers are going to fight in last Duel Cup of Summer season. I`am proud to welcome United Kingdom GaRpY,Sweden madix, Ukraine Free and Hungary Gandhi in our cup.

Earlier this month, the eSTRO pro gaming team welcomed a new face to their home, it was none other than Korea (Republic of)SC_Zerg Qoo)Max, the once most dominant and feared 2vs2 player alongside his teammate Korea (Republic of)SC_Protoss FanTastic_NamoO, back when the Pro League still offered 2vs2 in the lineup.

With his favorite style of competing being taken away, his former teammate leaving to the military, and his itch to take on another task in eSports, Max spoke with the eSTRO coaching staff and eventually joined their ranks and now completes the three man lineup.

Not mainly known as a 1vs1 player, Max did display his skill to the eSTRO B team when he first entered the house, as he beat many of them. He states that "the skill level within his new team house is very high, and he see’s a lot of potential in the young gamers, and he will do his best to help them excel even further in the upcoming Pro League season as well as the single leagues".

A video interview with Max will be conducted in upcoming weeks, and we’ll get his feedback about many things relating to the eSTRO team.

Update: Signups are now open.

Monday evening ClanBase ClanBase announced their 20th season with the incoming EC/OC Fall 2009 Cup season. This time 5 EuroCups and 55 OpenCups over a total of 24 games (including QuakeLive and the soon-to-be-released Wolfenstein) are planned:


No prizes were announced so far. There is a note about the next NationsCup season which should be announced this year, after the Fall season.

A hand of Quake players came to Cologne during the last days to participate at the first QuakeLive at an Intel Extreme Masters 4 event. Fragster.de was there as well and was able to take some pictures of the Quakers at GamesCom. Be sure to check them out.

After the success of the Quakelive 1v1 cup and Sweden Fazz winning 100 USD, it was only right to follow it up with another, supported again by EVO-G. This time the game featured will be Warsow and yet another $100 will be given to the winner of the cup kindly supplied by EVO-G.

Freeze Tag Petition
There is a FreezeTag Mod Petition for Quake Live. The petition was started two weeks ago to get 10.000 signatures with the goal to integrate and add the popular Q3 Mod Freeze Tag into QL. You dont need to register to give your voice.

Quake Live Cartoons
Ser has started a comic series with known scene players in our forum. Maybe there will be more drawings in the future.

Quake Live 2 Go
Slava Markeyev released "ql2go", a project to start Quake Live from a USB stick with the help of linux. Read all about it in the Quake Live Forum and QL2Go project site.

Ingame Demo Viewer
HyperNewbie has built a demo-viewer mini mod. The minimod shows a demo menu. Grab it in the Quake Live Forum.
