We are proud to announce the 125 FPS Nov-Dec'14 QuakeLive Duel Season! As usual huge thanks to our sponsor Alexey A from the Moscow region and to the rest of the donators as well.

From this season on our regular league will be held within 7 weeks instead of 4 weeks as it was before. You can see weekly schedule below. Next year the League will most likely be in the same way. The league will start on the 3rd of November, more info about schedule, players, maps, invites and other things you can read on the 125fps website.

1 week: Monday Wednesday and Friday - three qualifications
2 week: Monday Wednesday and Friday - three qualifications
3 week: Group Stage 1: Tuesday group A1, Thursday group B1
4 week: Group Stage 1: Tuesday group C1, Thursday group D1
5 week: Group Stage 2: Tuesday group A2, Thursday group B2
6 week: Group Stage 2: Tuesday group C2, Thursday group D2
7 week: 1st day:1/8*2 2nd day:1/8*2 3rd: 1/4*2 4th day:1/4*2 , Sunday Semis and Finals

A while back the QuakeWorld players

Mushi and

Dirtbox initiated a quite ambitious project to increase the amount of QuakeWorld servers in the world. Not only did they think there should be more of them, but they have also done certain investigations as to whether there are specific locations that are particularly advantageous with regards to routing, so players in these areas can take full advantage of the re-routing feature QWfwd available in QuakeWorld. In the best cases, this can decrease the ping not only within the community, but also bridge the gap between two communities.

One example has been the start-up of some North American servers that decreased the ping to Europe. Another important recent addition, with help from

Claw, is a bunch of servers located in South America. These babies bring down the ping below 50ms between

Chile,

Argentina and

Brazil. This should be a good step to once again unite the South American players on the same battle grounds. If you're from this area, then make sure to try them out!

DFWC is the most important event in the Quake3 DeFRaG world. Players from around the world will meet again to find out who is really the best. They will have to test their strafing and weapon skills on 8 maps of different difficulty level during 9 weeks. All these maps are new, created specifically for DFWC by the best mappers of our community.

Everyone can challenge himself in one of the two physics – VQ3 (Vanilla Quake 3 – similar to the current competitive Quake Live) or CPM (Challenge ProMode – similar to Quake Live’s PQL).

Here we go again with an interview of

Kenneth "plazma" Aulie (which was done some time ago, but we were unable to release it sooner due to some busy schedule), the popular Norwegian QuakeLive player and movie-maker, unfortunately eliminated in the first group stage of the 125 FPS October league.

In this interview, we asked plazma about his settings, his carreer, his plans as a player, what he thinks about other modes, etc. As usual, you'll find a link to plazma's config (which is from DHW13).

Esportactu: How would you qualify your gamestyle ? Has it been influenced by other Quake Live players ?

plazma: Stupid, rash, railonly and idiotic. I think it was fazz who said that I could be a really good player, but I have adhd and downssyndrome (It means I am not calm, and I dont think enough. Plus that I'm not very smart. I'm dumb, in fact. :p). I'm not very clever? As far as influences, I don't know. I can't copy what Cypher, rapha and those guys do, but they are fantastic to watch [...].

Alpha 2 version of Warxon and NetRadiant with Warxon support are released.

Alpha 2 comes with small gameplay fixes and adjustments such as improved weapon balance, more consistent knockback calculation, new grenades behavior, added missing sounds and so on.

The community favorite map editor NetRadiant now available with Warxon support. The maps building for Warxon now is as simple and familiar as for Quake3.
