i read in the papers a couple of days ago that they opened a recovery centre for addicted gamers in Amsterdam (NL), maybe a more applicable name would be a recovery centre for addicted WoW gamers
just for the note: a couple of months ago, a french judge ordered a student to go to a medical centre because of playing WoW was noxious for his health. Indeed, he had played at least 18hours a day, didn't get to university, and had lost 24 kilos during the 3 previous months.
kinda scary ://
Don't understand the point of it. It's pay to play, takes freaking forever to do most things, and what's the payoff? OMG MY CHARACTER IS LVL60 LOL TIME TO MAKE A NEW ONE!!!
i used to play wow for almost a year ...... worst thing i ever did. i met a lot of intersting people but lost 1 semester @university etc .... if i just could travel back ;)
One thing about WoW, it gives you alot of time to chat between the action. So in that regard maybe it's more socially acceptable than spending all night shouting gogogo, pwnd, BOOM HEADSHOT! etc :-D
I don't think it has ruined that much. The majority of all my friends including myself has quit playing it. Such a waste of time and it's not even fun to play, mostly cause the end game is totally crap.
