I've always wanted to make a traditional frag movie, and I guess "soon" is about as close I will manage. Split into three main sections: TDM/Duel/CTF, each with its own personal soundtrack that I believe represents its game play style best.

Made for my friends in Lobstarz, and many thanks to Team Zissou for hosting the premiere.

was cool, had mixed feelings up to the CTF part which was one absolutely amazing

was kind of worried you were going to go over the top with the crazy cam shots which I felt was a little too forced in some parts yet the majority of it was done brilliantly.

A very good movie Tom, nice one. The use of player animations and map objects to create a visual narrative (yeye cheese phrase) was great.

My criticism is that in the first section, because you're the editor and know the frags, you pace it a little too quickly for the viewer to work out what just happened.

Good Job !

As mentioned before, i think the ctf section is way better than the rest.
The first part was, for me, just like watching some average demo with mp3 that i don't like. I appreciated the effort of synchro frags / music in the beginning of the vid tho even if too much recam / slow motion etc for me :P

But then the ctf part just wakes everything up ! i just loved the moment when you're hidden @ q3wcpVersailles :)) at first didn't realize you were in enemy base, so nice :))

Fuckin $. Great music too, got a crowd of like 6 people behind me here at work while watching it at my lunch break. Real good stuff, I liked how I got to see the recams first and then from the POV later on. Just wish you had taken some more time in the cut leading up to my frag, that was some nice speed there :D

wow, i was really expecting this to be awesome going by the ratings its been getting (alot of 8,9,10s)

but

content - 7/10 some nice frags but thats all
editing - 3/10 cams were horrible and so was the config u used
music - 8/10 first song was alright, and i thought the song during ctf made it feel more epic

on the whole, i hated the first part, liked the 2nd.

editing: 9/10 - like veal said, the use of the model animation is implemented in a very creative way. cam-action excercised really well.
music: 9/10 - music fits the mood, especially in the ctf part. i like.

the config really sucked :< midget with its yellow'ish enemycolors was perfect this left me in the dark kinda most of the time.

i never liked 3rd person/cam stuff and that was one of the reasons i enjoyed midget so much.
frags from what i could see weren't anything special... still a good movie though. lots and lots better than the next stupid trance + tricking one which undoubtly will be released very soon.

were did i say there were no good frags? yeah the quadruns are nice but hey it was cp9-mid with its 8742 spawnpoints and a quaded shotgun!? i've seen far more impressive stuff in tdm with rail/lg.

granted there were good frags in there but lots of stuff that either didn't look great or like filler material.

if you actually watched it you'd see that most of the frags were in nmy base or when escaping high (ddks quadrun for example)

but yeah i cant be arsed to discuss quality of frags really since its more of an artwork than actual frag movie with running music in the background.. alot of the good frags were deleted (as far as i heard) because they just didnt fit in with the style of the movie.

matter of taste then... i like frag movies more than the artsy stuff :) most of the wannabe-stylish movies end up looking amazingly geeky.

Creative and enjoyable.

The intro and ending are the best cause the cam work and syncing is right on, with tons of creativity, no useless effects and interesting music. The "traditional frag vid" part is average and poor in comparison, with the content being pretty common stuff.

Keep up the innovation, or don't, cause then that would be innovating for you :D
