I think it's a conspiracy. Like Terminator, the robots are working against us... because there is so much practical use for humanoid robots. Human-biped legs are better than four-legs, or wheels... which is why humans are faster than cheetahs. Humans are also superior to birds, because we can't actually fly at all... and our bodies are better than fish, because we can only breathe underwater for not any time at all, and we can swim about 1/100th the speed of even the slowest fish... but really, conveyor belts, dispensers and timers will rise against humans, in a global robot-conspiracy.

If you really wanted to build a competent military-robot, you would build something more like three-wheels with a gun on top. The human-body is only good at building and using tools, and it's not even that good at doing that. Why put a human-like head on a robot, when only a cpu and possibly a camera is needed?
