The 38th ZOTAC QL Duel Cup will be played this Sunday. As usual it will consist of SE brackets using the bo1 format until the quarter finals. Then the games will be played as bo3 with the exception of the Final being played as bo5. The prize still is 100€ for 1st place!

You need to take into consideration the fact that these are early round games, where there wasn't much insight altogether. He is talking to me between games as I provide info from outside the server and you can't hear me. I really don't think this is such a big of a problem?

I think you would only be satisfied with someone like 2GD casting QL games, but tough luck, there are not many casters like that out there so either settle for a cast or just mute everything :)

that isn't necessarily true, there are people around who could give some insight in tdm besides 2gd.

some of the top q3 players are still around, ask them to cast a few games for you and see how this pans out. it's not just the way people cast, but what knowledge they can offer.

Yes there are still "big time tdm " people around from the old days but one could argue that the fact that they still play this silly game after 10 years doesn"t bode well for their vocal or social skills.

Which is precisely what u need for shoutcasting a game, at least in an entertaining fashion.

So he's very much correct in saying that it would be extremely hard to find someone who combines both a deep understanding of quake gameplay with good / excellent vocal skills. 2gd is 1 of those rare people, i fear their wont be many if any others indeed

Mate, a TDM/CTF/CA match can be commentated like a football match but not a duel. A duel should be commentated like a Boxing/UFC match where you keep the abilities of a player in the background and in the foreground, just assess the things he/she's doing in the match or on a particular map against an equally or less seasoned player with more or less the same abilities. A cooller vs. strenx match on DM6 will always give you tonnes to talk about, for instance.

I'm no pro at this but the best suggestions can come from the most random people. Given that we have no scene in India at all, we're the people who 'watch' the most. The difference between various shoutcasters is evident from the stuff they talk about. You guys are doing a great job by bringing the games to us. Just take it a notch further and we're good.

Yes, you cannot please everyone but there's no harm in trying :)

I really don't understand why the stream's ingame sound must be so low in relativity to the shoutcasters. It means I either have to turn it way up and put up with rambling bollocks for 10 minutes at full volume or just mute it (and the latter usually wins out)

Normally it's quite balanced, but if you find it's too low in-game then you can always come tell me about it in #lvl^ while I'm streaming and I'll adjust it.

And as a general info, you can come talk to me during a stream with your suggestions, complaints, etc and I will try to make adjustments that would fit the majority of viewers.

good tournament. I believe stermy played real good against rapha, i hope no one will
start the "player x didnt want to show his tactics" bullshit. These guys are competitors
and they play to win..as most of us would do. And also chatting during a game must
be prevented in a way. Its so annoying..the only way is, not letting anyone else than the streamers
to the servers as long as there is a stream ..

and finally i just wanna say;

I don't think so. If you are at that level you keep some trump cards till the end. that doesn't mean we mortals could spot the difference right away but those players would be stupid to show off their new moves or surprise tactics right before a big tournament.
