They get tested when they are released by everyone. Just like how toxicity is instantly in the map pool because it plays well. The maps u have in topic play horribly.
um they do test it in priv, i was watching chance and dkt play them when they came out. They play them like 10 times in a week, decide its good or bad then never touch it again.
we need map makers and top players to pair up and make maps together so we get good looking maps which actually have some competitive thought behind them
I miss Dismemberment. When I first started playing duel it was halfway popular, now nobody will play it anymore. In my (admittedly worthless) opinion: Big gap between MH and RA + RL, LG, RG + one YA and some shards = good map. Shouldn't have more than one 50 health bubble either. Dm13 is probably my favorite map right now, but its so annoying when you do a ton of damage without finishing the kill and all three of those fucking 50 bubbles are up.

In some respects I think id should control the map pool. Each year/6months they change it, The map pool could be larger than usual say 8. After each tourney the maps are improved the worst getting the most priority and the cycle continues.
There are a lot of sub par maps; with tweaks and architectural changes they could be made into good maps . That's not to say the old classics miss out they could be revamped. Like the dm6 that was floating about on here, that had a way through from rail to mh room.
This will never happen though, need too many tourneys and a mapper to do all the work.
jeesports cup today had a great game on batlleforge in double digit frags for both players (garpy vs killsen) i hope that map will be used more in bigger events.
