regular users cant add a post to the schedule, thats where the "count down timer thing" comes from (and it also appears in the schedule listing you can see on the right)

mavLP comes from Quake 4, or so I've been told. he's been playing a lot of duel and not a bad player for how long I imagine he's been playing. if he keeps at it he'll be quite good I think, but he's gotta sort out his lag issues (much as I do).

Walter the reason you can't play quakelive well is you play people that suck at quakelive and you follow their pace, which is quake 3 style.

If you wanted to be good, you'd have to play dahang/rapha constantly. As Dahang focuses on timing and when to take fights, so you can't hastily attack him and die when ur not supposed to die, or you get ruined.

Rapha focuses on position and traps and leaving fights when losing. So you'd have to actually trap rapha and fight him properly with the right guns to secure him from not leaving a fight, and then learn to not chase him at inopportune times.

If you play them both, maybe 2000 times, you will have quakelive game style ingrained into you by force. Playing people that suck like random na duelers that rush and play like shit, will never help you, even when you win.

You need to get demolished and picked apart, so you can evolve. That is the only way for you. Both of these players can aim fairly well, but your aim should not be worse than them. So you can take aim fights if you actually have position/stack and win, therefore you will need to just focus on when to be agressive and die, or when to escape and stack back up to do damage on items. These are the perfect players for you to play, as their aim won't rage you too much and you won't be tempted to enter aim fights just to out aim them (from anger)

Rapha and Dahang never change their play style even if they are playing shitties, they won't take stupid risks even when they can abuse their aim and stack. It's all about how you play your strategy for the map.

The freezetag final was one of the most boring things ever. Freezetag can be a good comp mode but that was just horrible. 20 minutes of CA like action mixed with the bare minimum of TDM play.
I like how the caster tried to make it sound appealing. IT'S LIKE TDM GAIZ. Just put a freaking round limit.

i watched it. i thought it was interesting. i thought the idea of camping/controlling frozen enemies was appealing.

It's just not going to work as a spectator game mode. They should focus on TDM at least for this period since it's going to be the team mode for quakecon. Unless they introduce a CA type round limit or cut the time to 10 minutes, it's not going to work.

I really wanted to enjoy it but when I realized it was going to be 20 minutes long for FT, that just killed it.

The Freeze Tag stuff was setup to showcase the mod. The mod is fairly new to Quake Live, considering all of the changes that had to be made to it to make it viable.

I agree that the 20 minutes seemed very long for Quake Live. It must be that Quake Live is faster or something then Q3 was for FT, because we have been playing FT with 20 minute time limit (plus OT) for years and the game scores were not that high or that fast.

We will continue to mess with the settings and such that ID have implemented, but I assure you all... FT in NA will end up being more active then TDM and CTF combined. I think this is only because the community has been begging for it for 2 years now and the community is much closer and more involved then the TDM and CTF communities.

Hey.. CSN is trying to offer up TDM and have put $800.00 on a single event and yet not one team has taken the steps to sign up. This is frustrating as I know if I had $800.00 on FT, I could easily get 8 teams signed up in 2 days. I know this of course because FT is my background.

If you understand the teamwork that is required (and there was not much teamwork in last times draft matches).. I think you can better understand the game and see how spectator friendly it can be.

I love both CTF and TDM and would love to see both become viable communities in NA..but it will take the players and the communities to make it happen. Less bickering and more helping goes a long ways making things happen.

didnt know this because i stopped watching streams entirely (vod instead. usually saves me alot of wasted life to waiting time, caster pregame shittalk and buffering/bandwidth/routing lag)

why im telling this? because i think its sad and i would rather increase the view counter of a livestream - but its just not worth all the struggle
