4SeasonsGaming sat down with
tox before his travels to QuakeCon 2011. tox arrives in Dallas on the 3rd of August staying in the Hilton Anatole with his team mates
fox,
Stermy and
link1n. tox had a lot to say about Quake Live compared to Quake's 3 and 4, and also wanted to share with us his thoughts of playing QL on LAN, and what changes they could make to the game in general.
4sg: As many saw you did still participate in the TDM tournament claiming the first TDM QL LAN title. What did LAN Quake Live feel like for those who haven't had the chance?
tox: The game is totally different if you compare LAN to Online, With very little use of plasma and the delayed rockets online changes the gameplay drastically. I prefer playing on LAN tho, its the way I play even if I play online, I always place my shots like if I was always playing on LAN, I suppose that is why I tend to miss so much online. If you don't take the time to predict the delay or the use of using the online cmds which aren't allowed during LAN, like timenudge and so on. Which is the sad part, that many of the pro's are still using -20 timenudge on LAN, and there is no one reacting to this, in my eyes this is cheating on the highest level since you shoot a lot faster and you register more shots. Luckily now ID software have denied this cmd on LAN , and hopefully there will be more fair play during LAN competitions.
