This actually seems like a good mouse, shape and dimension-wise... but I don't like how the mouse buttons aren't severed. I had a G9x and it's RMB wasn't severed from the shell, resulting in increasing stiffness to closer you get to the middle of the mouse.

I don't like that varying sensitivity. I want it to be the same everywhere it's clicked.

I'm pretty sure it's the people who don't research and fall victim to their marketing who are the people they're glad about.

Not the people who spend months deciding on a mouse and doesn't give a damn who makes it, as long as it's for me.

severed or not, what you want is not possible, think about it :) atleast not with anything close to current mouse designs out there. underneath that "button" is one actual single small button, that's not anywhere nearly the size of the shell "button".

I personally can't wait. Alot of you guys here trash razer - but in all honest truth they make the best mice. They're always accurate and precise - coupled with the high DPI makes other mice useless. They also have legendary support with better driver software and have worked hard to eliminate jitter with dynamic DPI scaling. Not to mention they look freaking cool, which is one of them main I reasons I buy these super awesome mice. I think the price really justifies what you get - the taipan costs $99 here in Australia and from what I can see; supported by legendary professional gamers and scientific research, I would gladly pay $150+.

Yeah, the one mouse that's too long for claw grip, too narrow for palm grip and too heavy for fingertip grip. But you know other than that it's a good mouse...

WTF is a Diamondback Plasma?! Never heard of it... By writing Diamondback and Deathadder I ment Diamondback + 3G and Deathadder + 3.5G. I really left out Abyssus, my fault. The Boomslang is amongst the ones I can't rate yet.

Plasma is the blue "limited edtion" (revised edition) of the original Diamondback.
The original one has a slight problem, if you change horizontal direction rapidly at high speeds; it skips one pixel. It's not a big issue, but it's there. They solved this in the Plasma - and Krait also inherited this updated sensor.

What about Salmosa? If you like the grip, it's totally awesome.

This is pretty much the diamondback form factor with concave sides.
About the same length, height, top curve and weight. Maybe 5mm extra width.

Which is great news for me as my diamondback buttons are just now starting to give out.

Simple.

Because people keep buying their shit. They also devour every single word this fucker spout on their website.

Shit such as this part

The Razer Taipan has also been carefully optimized by the scientists and engineers at Razer to ensure that the weight distribution of the mouse provides for a perfectly balanced mouse chassis where the centre of gravity of the unit is primed for the most optimal grip profiles for all top eSports atheletes.

This is just one of the retarded gems.

As long as people massively buy their lesser products (honestly, I've seen threads even on ESR about people buying an abyssus each month because it breaks so fucking fast), they can do whatever they want.

The jokes on "us".

Minor negative acceleration is present as low as 0.35 m/s through roughly 0.80 – 1.00m/s. Anywhere past that is where the positive acceleration kicks in. It is important to note that without specifically testing, it is fairly hard to diagnose it with either acceleration. This test is intended for mouse enthusiast and really shouldn’t stop the average user / gamer.
This guy is retarded. Most people don't want any accel whatsoever, but he's like "eh you got accel but atleast you got both positive and negative, so it's np, right?". Chromosomes upon chromosomes...

Hey Nzr0,

This is George from Enthusiast Reviews - sorry the review didn't jive with your expectations. You have to look at it from my point of view and that is a majority of users are casual gamers. I didn't want to exclude my finding, hence why I mention them but I also didn't want to over react for the average consumer who doesn't know what I'm talking about. The accel issue is definitely a problem, I tried to pinpoint at which tracking speed they occur and let the power users intake that information as they want. Anyway, once again I'm sorry the review wasn't up to par with your expectations and if you have any constructive criticism or questions email me - georgek@enthusiastreviews.com

Take care,

Very cunning, sir, I call you a retard and you take the high road. Here's my constructive criticism: hold the product responsible to its claims. In this case - performance. 80$ is not something you spend on a mouse to give your girlfriend so she can browse the web. It's supposed to be a gaming mouse and 1m/s is not a speed that only the hardcore will hit. That 5m/s tracking speed though is what only the hardcore and even just 1% of them will hit.

Appreciate the kind words and the criticism. I agree with what you said and I promise I'll do my best to help better criticize these sensor faults. I'm trying to improve on these other reviews that simply state - "it tracks good". =)

Thanks again sir and hope I haven't lost you as a reader.

Ok, despite the fact that it's razer and the 948569456dpi shit, what do you guys really think about the desing and the sensor? Think that it'll bring any kind of bug?

My first (and only) gaming mouse till now - 2 years - is Lachesis and it never disappointed me (that problem about lifting the mouse? never bothered)

I use it to play CS:S and TF2... can make rly good hs! But still, i think it's time to change it (last month the wheel button showed some malfunctions) and I really want the opinion of you guys. You seem to have a kind of "love" for the ms1.1, but I really wouldn't mind spending a little more on this taipan, if was worth it.

So, any sugestions?

Caio (from Brazil)

dear, casual
"I use it to play CS:S and TF2" - buy whatever signed by super-snake-razer lightning logo and you will be happy. And also the highest price possible is even better for you. Trust me and go for the most expensive razer mouse, you will feel like in heaven, really.
PS. Amount of lightning parts on the mouse matters almost the most, so consider it too.

Really? Man, I was waiting for something better than a sarcastic comment. That was offensive and that kind of attitude just makes the purpose of this whole forum invalid. So, take it from a "razer-noob-fan-boy": instead posting something like this just for the fun, try to HELP who is looking for help.
You're welcome.

Honestly the kind of hate here makes me suspect some people hate it because they can't afford it...

It's a bad mouse because the software sucks, the acceleration ruins lives, and Razer have put in tons of garbage marketing, but tbh the shape is a step in the right direction.

Perfect mice shape was achieved more than 10 years ago by microsoft, with 4 varieties. Anyone who disagrees is a noob.

It is perfect IMO too, but if anyone disagrees they're entitled to it :)

And why hasn't any mouse replicated such a perfect shape properly even till today?

Still lust for an IO 1.1 with a DPI that's more friendly for 1080p :(

He isn't going to use the WMO clone shape for the Velocity. I wonder if it's going to suck now.

Why on earth would he DO such a thing?

What about the other one, Ninox or whatever?

Because WMO shape is perfect for finger/crawl grip and all it needs to be the perfect mouse is an up to date sensor and better cable+mouse skates

Exactly but you said he "isn't" using the WMO shell for the Velocity.

I'm wondering why not? Surely its the best shell in existence.

Bought this on a whim today.
It worked for 2 hours, now I can't make it go in a straight line, it goes in a wave, some other kid had the same problem:

The pointer jumps around like a fucktard in windows.
Tried everything. Fml

Its not broken, it designed to work this way.
4G Dual Sensor System is extremely precise sensor that translates the exact movement of your hand and has no angle snapping.
It looks just a little bit bad because you are not using it on a 50$ aircraft-grade aluminium razer pro gaming mouse surface.

But be sure to blow it really well. Sometimes the sensor refuses to do anything well if not blown with proper technique.

My brother and father both have this mouse and it works very well for them. I have tried it and it seems to track very well and is also very responsive. I would say it is very close to the deathadder.
