Recording for me was a bit complicated though, so read this before you download it and try yourself.

I had to use 320x240 resolution in window mode, recording in full screen gave me a flickering HUD in the recorded file.
Also I had to save each frame uncompressed, we all know UT 2003 takes all what it gets, time for realtime compressing secondary isn't a deal there.

Besides of that you can also record audio which is very nice.

Hmm ,strange. I mean, when I want to make a vid from a quake3 moment, I need to capture dozens of screenshots and make a .avi file from it.
This program is for UT2k3 only? Or can it be used with other games as well?

You can use it to capture anything that you can see on your desktop..

all games, its a screen capture program.

of course for ut2k3 its done in a window, so u set it to capture the active window :D

This program can be used on any game, but believe me, using in-game tools (a la quake 3 cl_avidemo command) is MUCH better in terms of quality and features.

This is a reply to if22, which said he used quake 3 in-game commands and asked if this proggie could be used on other games. I, then, assured him it could but using the in-game commands would be better. I was talking about quake 3 on my entire post which is not related to ut2k3 demo in any aspect. Satisfied?

NO, and according to the last info not even in the retail version. They plan to releas demorec in an early patch.

Lag seems to cripple your moves a fair bit as well.

A lot of stuff I can do no problem offline in instant action but then when you go on a less than perfect server you miss half your jumps.

No.. those idiots over there decided to limit everything they can.
Once you leave the ground after your first jump you can only do one double jump and one dodge:

jump -> jump -> walljump -> land even if you could do more
or
jump -> walljump -> jump -> land even if you have the skill..

Only one I think you missed, is from the lift by ASMD and Amp, you can lift jump all the way to the right side of rl on the spikey pillers (side w/ no ammo). Nice moves though. Still can't get the one from steps to sheild by the flack..

I have to say that i'm impressed with the phisics, never thought these things were possible un UT2K3, but then again i'm a quake 3 player and a UT n00b.
I'll give it another try though, looks promissing :>

Now that I've looked into a few of those tricks, I find some of them looking quite impossible to do without speed. Still, apparently they're not. Any tips? Mostly the jump on 1:55 and the one after that. Was that made by jump-walljump-jump? I can't understand how he managed to get such a nice boost straight up, because, if I understand correctly, the walljump should've propelled him straight away from the girder (or what's that thingie). Or is there something I don't understand? :)

After trying some of the jumps i have to say that there are some very difficult jumps in there. Everyone who takes the time and try all of them and i mean really all and not only the easy ones and/or the useful ones will notice what i mean. The 1:55 jump is a very good example: Most of you might not even noticed the jump after watching cause there are some other more important jumps to try..but this very short jump is not as easy as it looks in the video like some of you already noticed. But i can confirm that it's not done by using cheats or speed or anything like that cause i mangaed to do that jump after some practise. I found out that you can do this jump with 2 different methods. The method that is shown in the movie uses a jump-walldodge-doublejump. Mostly this combo fails but from time to time i was able to finish it. I think this is related to the high speed you have when you jump at this edge, sometimes it can give you that little extra high you need. It might be easier if you look in the other direction while doing the jump, be sure you stand in the middle of the platform with your body touching the pillar and you look at the other pillar but slightly more in direction of the platform with the shield. Then jump, dodge forward and jump again while trying to pull the jump to the platform. Should take some time but you will see that it is possible. The other method i found out is to use a doublejump-dodge combo. This time you shouldn't stand in the middle, instead stand nearer to the platform, right from that middle part of the pillar (i hope you know what i mean). You should look almost with an angel of 90 degrees at the platform while this middle part of the pillar is behind you and you touch it..this is necesarry to do the wall jump. Now you do a doublejump and at the highets point you dodge away from that pillar straight on the platform. Don't expect to do this easely because like the first method you won't have enough hight normaly. But theres one fact besides the speed you have while hitting the edge of the platform that makes this jump possible: there is a small area wich is not as high as the rest of the platform (like on the other side too) and if you hit this area it will get you on the platform. I hope i could helped some of you...and please excuse my bad english. In my opinion there are some even more difficult tricks in there and although i was able to do most of them after some practise there are some that i wasn't ables to do up to now. Besides this fact its very impressive if you consider that all the jumps were made one after the other without any failures...the guy who made the video must rally know what he is doing there. All of these people who say that q3 has to offer real challenging trickjumping while ut2k3 not should try to do all the jumps in the video. It's the first time for me that i have a similar feeling while doing these jumps compared to doing some q3 tricks wich i did a long time. It might not be better and for sure i'm missing these cool strafe and rocket jumps but trickjumping in ut2k3 can be damn close to q3. By the way this walljumping reminds me on q3 cpma trickjumping in one of the cpma levles (don't know the name anymore) where you can doublejump at those lamps at the wall and reach the upper floor.

Yup I've got the 1:55 to work ok a couple of times using differnt variations, although there's a much easier jump from the pillar the other side of the ledge up on to the walkway just beside the ledge; which for me is a much more reliable way of getting up to the shield fast. The way shown in the video is slightly faster - but I can't hit it reliably.

Someone managed to do that jump at 2:00 right after that one discussed above? I think this is one of the most difficult one in there. I suceeded this jump only two or three times up to now although the first part of it is quit easy but if i try that jump on that steel girder i fall down and have to beginn once again most of the time. All of you who want to learn how to walljump should go for that megahealth jump as its not that difficult and you can fastly start from the beginning if you fail. After doing this jump i realised that this nice jump after the jump to the rocketlauncher on antalus (0:35) is done the same way. First time i tryed it i thought you need to do a dodge doublejump from that edge at the end of the rock but i found out that you do a simple jump at the rock face after the little platform and dodge away from it wich gives you the high and distance to do the jump wich i think is a realy nice one. Almost the same with the jump right after that (0:45) wich wouldn't be possible without the ability to walldodge. This shows that indeed there are some jumps you only can achieve with this special technique wich made it very useful. After 2 days of training i have done all the jumps except of that one at 1:45 wich is a walljump too and shouldn't be more difficult then the other ones but it takes some time to get in position everytime you failed the jump. Nevertheless i'm sure i will acomplish this one too. I don't wan't to say im a big trickjumper. But i say that all these jumps are possible and only need some training. Although most of them are useless the ability to do them can give you good movement skill in ut2k3 and of course some great fun.

and also give u practice for other maps where it may be more needed :D

Yes, I managed to do the 1:55 jump for myself (on my own, yay :), but I used the lowered block on the right instead of the tiny little fringe. For my own surprise, I also managed to do the 1:40 and the 2:00. :) .. but how on earth does the guy get on top of the blocks on the roof right after that ?

I also practiced the neat combo after 2:13 (to the flak cannon, walljump to the ammo, over the rail, doublejump to the shield. After that I can do a walljump to the other side with health vials, but I don't seem to succeed in just dodgejumping there. Any tips on that one? Seems so easy in the demo. :D

Dont't know what jumps you mean exactly. The first jump you talk about i think you mean that one right after the 2:00. Like i said before it's very difficult and seems to be very similar to the 1:55 one. A jump-walldodge-doublejump combo should do the trick if you have enough height speed while hitting the edge and of course some luck. Although the 2:00 jump seems to be easy after you know how to do it it looks impressive. I think this jump wouldn't be possible without that right pillar wich seems to press you in the right direction (don't know if you had the same experience maybe you can do this jump directly without the pillar). The second jump you said would be the jump from the powershield to the upper platform on the right if i understand you right. But i don't know wich walljump you mean cause there are only two ways to get there: the direct one using a dodge-doublejump and the other way using the platforms on the side wich takes much longer. If you are able to do the jump up to the shield it shouldn't be any problem to do that direct dodge doublejump to the platform right after that since this jump is almost the same. Maybe you try the jump in reverse direction wich might be easier for you and wich is much more important too if you come from the rocket and want to pick the shield up.

Nononono.... You can also get to the other side from the shield with a walljump. Just jump on the wall with the pipe on the left side and dodge+jump from there. It looks pretty l33t done backwards :P

And I can easily get from the health vials to the pipes on the super shield, but I can't get on the orange thingie, nor can I get from the orange thingie to the health vials. Strange.

Gotta practice. ^^

Oh, and the point to jump on is just like the one on 2:16 when there's the walljump from the flak to the ammo - it's just on the other side.

Grr... now I can pull it off :P. I noticed I was jumping too early on the dodge-jump. :)

Hmm..have to correct me with my thoughts on the second jump: you are right that one method that i described with using the platform at the side is actually a walljump. The dodgejump you mentioned and the reverse jump never seemed to be a real problem for me but i noticed that i fail this jump sometimes and don't know why. Experimenting a little bit i found out that you won't get the highest distance by using a left or right dodge in an exact 90 degree angle ( the angle between the direction you run and the direction you want to jump). Try to do it by using an angle of 100 or 105 degree...you should beginn to run in the middle of the machine or maybe slightly right of it and then run in an 15 degree angle (angle between the direction you run and the border of the machine or the platform) to the end of the machine wich means you will go near to the right outside wich will be nearer to the platform. Then you dodge and pull your jump forward to the platform. I think you went just parallel to the border and then pull the jump in a 90 degree angle just like me before wich doesn't work everytime. I bet you won't miss your jump again if you follow my instructions.

I found out something really nice: If you do a jump-dodge-jump by jumping first and then dodging and jumping at exactly the same time, you get A LOT more lift to your jump. This makes the 1:45 doable, plus it makes the 1:55 (both ways), 2:00 and the jump after it A LOT easier.

im trying to make the jump from the window to the reactor 6 hours now. Really 6 hours :( Could anyone please tell me how i should do it?

I didn't succed not one time. I tried jump-dodge-jump, double jump-dodge-jump, just double-jump, i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. I don't think he's making a walljump, cause there is no wall :(

Please, could anyone tell me how to do it? What jumps do i have to do to get on the reactor/platform from the window?
