this doesn't change the fact that noone will give u a recent cypher's config, that he's using "atm"
edit: or even was using back in the days. there was a lot of cypher's configs on the net, i downloaded it, execed and it wasn't even a bit close to that what looked on the vids of his screen recorded. these were cypher's configs, but old, not the actual ones

Wrong. Dahang lost t7 and his on temper due to a bad decision after the infamous fight in yellow room. He decided to back off at mega and wait there for 15 seconds, giving 150 armor + health to cypher. After that cypher just ran over him.

Impressed with baksteen, you could clearly see his strategical thinking and trap-like style (rapha style)

He had that t7 easily, but cypher plasma = rofl?

The only guys that can beat cypher are:
Rapha
cooller in form
Av3k with practice
spartie not drunk (fat chance)
k1llsen RAILBEAST form
toxjq in q4

but very good props to baksteen, I think he can become a top level player.

ins is like not even casting, hes repeating shit he observes. e.g

score is still 0-0! - during the av3k vs demon game

Holy shit, hes bad at play-by-play and he does not add any insight into the game as a player

he's just like a parakeet or one of those lowbrow goons that you order around, he's like zoots echo or shadow or midget lover

don't know what the fuck hes doing casting, but he needs to go asap.

I like zoot casting, for anyone new to quake and doesnt know wtf is going on, zoot is great. He does not stutter (czm/voo) and sounds good on the mic.

I COMPLETELY disagree with you(and I'm one of your biggest plussing fanboys too): I know ins was baked, but he watches opposing pov to Zoot and often points out interesting strat developments that viewers can't see(Zoot's pov).

Also ins has played TONS of duels with top players and knows their styles very well. His voice is even-toned, doesn't get flustered and hardly ever digresses into childish, irrelevant topics.

Example: He pointed out in purri's Silence duel with powlee, NO lg cells used. In fact it's ins who requests end-match stats to analyze and draw conclusions. imo there's no full-on Zoot w/o ins.

19:00 - 20:30 TDM quarter finals #1 and #2 (they will realise there's no time to cast both)
21:00 - 22:30 TDM semi finals #1 and #2 (2:0 rape decided to be streamed, then they'll stream decider of the more interesting semi)
23:00 - 00:30 TDM grand final (changed format to bo3)
00:30 - 01:30 duel grand final

Third place games weren't scheduled, so cointoss will decide who gets the money.

22:35, they just joined a TDM server... It's last 7 minutes of second map of a semifinal... No quarterfinal was streamed.

If I was to sum up all the smoke breaks, they would probably give 6+ hours by now.

Only missing thing was a spinning QuakeCon 2010 logo when the games were being played.

actually (said it before) k1llsen's problem isn't his lg style (shake or no shake, he still hits a shit load), it's the fact that he DOESNT use lg as much as he should, like the russians for example, who spam a ton to deal constant, guaranteed (like toxjq said) dmg. killsen plays too much rocket/rail. he's great with all weapons, no doubt, but if he'd be more of an lg whore, he'd win so much more imo

Great duel tourney - some fantastic play by all the players :D Good casting by czm - shame he didn't make it to the final rounds but that was some really hot competition and some great matches - wp all!

P.S. It feels wrong watching TDM being casted by anyone other that Disrepute and Vor, but czm has a nice "the audience aren't idiots" style which is nice and his insights are really good.

well judging by online perfomance NL(eventhough being good on paper looking at nicknames)was kinda expected to be worse than SWE and maybe CZE, i think they would have been much better if they had taken spawnz instead of prodx/gooda
as for 102 i don't rly think ANYONE expected that, probably they shouldn't really rely and give all items to the player with 2cm/360(sic!) who's usually nervous as hell in important matches(talking about latrommi), he made too bad decisions sometimes unlike pavel did when he was their main stack gainer.

Really? You have no idea how today was, the fact that we waited 10 hours to finalle setup as last team while cze and swe already pracced 2 or 3 hours and russia for 1 hour, the fact that we had to start immediatly without warmup because the ET tournament was so delayed and they were using the same computers and the players from et were eating 2 hours while they should be playing.. Besides that after we were setupped we had to switch computer and monitor for the duel finalst cze still could have warmed up, admins asking every minute if we are ready while we were setting up, and as final problem, prodx getting many times 999 during the game, couple times with stack before quad or smt.. And btw we have won 2-0 vs sweden in the group with 30-40 frags difference. Thanks

well as i wrote I'm judging by online performance where SWE had more stable results in my opinion. I sincerely think your current players don't fit each other well(or maybe you didn't have enough time to), and a player like spawnz would be more suitable especially if you look at positions/weapon preferences. I've sadly missed day 2 and didn't watch your earlier games, but after watching your semifinal today I can't rly say that CZE's win was any undeserved tbh(though I expected you to have a slight advantage)

dm14 is a great tdm map. you can actually control zones and items, it has two powerups near the strong/weak zones, etc. :C

the games on limbus where much more dynamic, while on dm14 its a lot of camping. also the rl is too strong in the corridors imo, quad-carrier cant get out without taking a lot of dmg
on the other side, the whole team-game aspect gets a bit lost on open maps, its more becoming a team-ffa game
and yep, im not convinced about tdm yet. noone has health or ammo all the time. theres some tension about it ofc!

awesome lan! thank you all: steelseries, adroits, nicer, zoot, ins, mouse* (lay off wodka men, moldova no approves), czm, Vo0, av3k, all of you who made it happen, who participated, who managed to get 4 comrades to struggle in 4v4 :>.

gratz2 cypher, solid perfomance as always ;D
gratz2 sweden, who proved once again to be top1 at TDM, when it comes to lan (that's right, landodgers like fra and den, you have to defend the online title :))

hope it's not last Adroits-Quake act of relationship, if so, Thank You very much for all ;) ggs, and gl.

p.s. only wish there were no problems with pc's and constant delays all 3days... so we could have seen not totally sleepy and tired tdm-ers at the end, bronze final, and bo5 grand final.

Quick obs from sinking time into live stream:

Zoot: solid, "core" casting -- held the entire show together admirably and deftly juggled so many quake personalities.
ins: said it before, ins watches opposite pov and gives great insight into developments viewers can't see. Good end-duel stat analysis too.
mouse*: no worries. you're doing what you love and love to quake. Good enough for me.
Quickly, czm not enough thank-you's to give; Purri completely biased here from from q2 fanboyism stretching back to 1999 - nevertheless "pro" no-nonsense presence on stream casting and on stream playing silky, sexy Silence! Vo0 great energy, enthusiasm; Av3k huge surprise, candid, funny and just flat out cool; Cypher unusually chatty, relaxed and at times revealing into one of quake's more reserved personalities. ouze just cool; Yellak you mad about something??

p.s. Quaking always embodied a DoItYourself attitude(e.g.,think early QuakeCons): Events like this, no matter how many hiccups and missteps, remain all that's left of that by-gone time, without slick, scripted casting and sanitized market-tested entertainment packages.
p.s.s. overlooked entertainers: CHAT SPECTATORS!! madbringer Aayinach so many others. I've never laughed so hard for so long. Just cool to be in lobby with fazz, noctis, Fraze, empish, funnyb, matr0x..evermazah cool too.

The skill-level, talent-wise, of the finals was crazy high... Seriously maybe the best i've ever seen by that point of view.
Cypher just played a little better out of control and came out with some Cypher's magic @Hub, controlling the items.
After that T7 by k1llsen (how he countered that trap at the MegaYA and then how he denied Cypher's control without a rail, woah) i thought he could do it because his best maps were yet to come.

Thanks to K1llsen because i feel like he was involved in all the most enjoyable games of the brackets. Dat Hektik vs Av3k!! Dem games vs Pavel (very nice tourney but i feel like he was a little too passive in Duel).

Evil: nice try man! In the end he was the only one who had a real shot at eliminating Cypher. But i feel like if the skill-level is this high he needs to step-up his out-of-control game and maybe add something less predictable, or the best players will figure him out. Just my point of view, i'm a big noob anyway.

Av3k. i hope he'll stick around the scene more, playing some faceit-cups. Just the fact he's playing a tourney hypes it. He's a pure class player, great talent and very nice understanding of the game, was a little unlucky in his Hub vs K1llsen but it's hard to argue against such robotic aim.

Certainly it wasn't a perfect coverage but its better than nothing. They'll learn and try to improve their performance next time.

I'm not saying it has to be perfect and once again I'd like to emphasize that I appreciate everyone who has the skill and guts to commentate a match that 3000+ viewers are watching, I'm glad zoot has us covered and is travelling to this events just so he can sit there and jabber about games.

Thanks. Yes cypher was definitely using a picmip higher than 8 combined with lightmap (not Data). Av3k was using something close to picmip 3/4 with vertexlighting, and evil something close to picmip 6 with vertexlighting (raw estimate, but i guess it's fairly accurate since i used to mess with picmip alot). Imo cyphers cfg had the best visuals, evil's cfg was pretty bad visual wise i think :p me and baksteen had a short talk with cypher btw, he said he liked the shape of the abyssus the most, but he now uses a steelseries kana and he likes it.

edit: funny fact, cypher uses m_yaw/pitch 0.018

I am so happy about zoot turning on the automatic vod function on his steam at twitch.tv. I had multiple times during the weekend where I missed watching important matches, but there was no problem at all for me to come home later at the evening and just rewatch the games without any spoilers. If there was no VODs I would have had to watch these afterwards when I already knew the score, which would have sucked.

Big props to that - you already won over QuakeCon.

Overall great event, thanks for arranging it and keeping Quake alive!

It was a good event to watch, except for the delays ofc. Some really good games all around. Was hoping for a Cypher vs Avek final, but it was good still. Cypher is king. K1llsen is a machine. Lets hope Avek will be more active now as the next LAN is about to happen not so far in the future. Evil definitely have great potential to be in the finals of any tournament, and Baksteen i think topped all expectating.

Casting was good too, i think Zoot did a good job, but he needs someone to support him, i'm sorry but Ins isnt good, he just uninteresting most of the time and his difficulties in english is a little too much. Pros hopping in was a pleasure to hear: Purri, Cypher, Avek and so on... Best synergy: CZM & Vo0. Mad props for them, especially CZM for commentating so much.

Thanks to everyone, hope to see next Adroids soon!

What I really liked about this event was the win chance margin between top contenders was incredibly low.

No real blowouts, I'm pretty sure av3k, k1llsen or evil could have easily taken the first place, they all showed amazing skills.

The nations format for TDM was good, but everyone knows whats the reason behind it and it certainly hurted some of the players who would have go if its wasnt for their small/inactive country. Next time it would be better to make regional tournament: Northern EU, Central+South EU, Eastern EU, Western EU with traditional teams getting an extra spot for themselves like Sweden, Russia, Czech Rep., Germany, etc...

Thanks to those who were involved in making the atmosphere great and the event a well spent time. Even though the set backs were annoying, it all turned out in a nice way. An extra thumbs up and thanks to nicer who was working like mad during the whole tournament to make everyone happy, and kept going eventhough he must have gotten loads of complaints (and shit) at "some moments" :P. Go nicer \o/!

Duel and tdm are on the same vods ("duel grand finals" and the rest). TDM playoffs start after the duel final (hence why I didn't watch them lol).

Adroits LAN is over! It was so great weekend for me. Ofc we got problems, someone was mad, someone was happy at any case. But in the end we had great QuakeLIVE lan with many players in, LAN servers and 120Hz monitors. Games were really intense and there was enough action. We had great place for this LAN, nicely connected game area and bar, got spectators area to watch quake, party after every game day. I just hope you won't blame us for such delays we got, that was just last minute problem we got with PC's and monitors. Was pleasure to meet and speak to every quaker there, hope you all enjoyed atmosphere. The next time will be even better, I promise. Sponsors were happy about QuakeLIVE at this event, that means we will have another QuakeLIVE tournament. Thanks to everyone who was there, cya on next Adroits LAN. I'm up for criticism tho :)

For an even more successful Quake-LAN next time, pls make it clans and not nations and even more important: lower the entry fee! Even if that means lower prizemoney, most people dont care that much about the prizes as they wont get them anyway ;D
Its more about meeting up and have some fun and nice games, we need more of that, the location is perfect.
(Don't need to mention more PC's I guess)
