So I guess the best way is to try and raise attention China. Spread the KS around when that launches, tell your friends, and maybe try to run a little online cup or something once a week. I dunno. If people want to play it they'll play.

Also wasn't the largest PC community Russia or Korea? I guess it doesn't really matter but there could be some potential. Just spread the word.

So I went to this international econ. class and this nerdish asian chick asks me if it's international economics, which I respond yeah. Vern's 15 minutes of being a solid playah (amidst lifetime of uncomfortable nerd) and I chat her up (she's a chink, exchange student) but she turns away to her friend.

The class starts and I get an idea, I write stuff to paper elementary school -style in cutesy style with a line to put her contact information. She fills it up and even puts a smiley on it. When we leave she says CU to me.

Firstly, to release anything in China, it would require massive efforts beyond just adapting the game for China. You can't even publish anything as a westerner AFAIK, you have to get a Chinese publisher for you. That's just not going to happen with Reflex. Oh, and good luck with any kind of violence as Quakers keep whining about the lack of stupid gibs (seriously?) in-game.

This isn't a well known fact, but for years as sc:bw was the premier esport, a cs clone called sudden attack was the most popular game on PC bangs (LAN cafes) in South Korea. But that feels more like an anomaly to me though.

Asians do seem so predisposed to their 999999 ability / item / character kind of games. You just never hear them in any game that isn't an MMO, MOBA, something similar or a fighting game, much more than even the western scene. To me it feels like their culture is predisposed to taking anything even remotely streamlined, or simple, zero-sum-ish to the naked eye, and perfecting it, which these kind of games are at some level. I hope it isn't just ignorance shining through, but it feels like they do it in sports, too, with less focus on very-"free"-at-the-start kind of sports like basketball, tennis, football and whatever else, and more focus on the gazillions of running, jumping and swimming kind of things like nearly everything like the olympics. Though it could just be that they don't like throwing balls around aimlessly as much as we do, I don't know.

With that said, any kind of chance that would defy these odds would go out the window if the game wasn't f2p and had a modern client with all the great features. Not only Asians wouldn't play it, I wouldn't play it out of spite.

Also, we're going to have plenty of "stupid gibs" ;)
