well i heard if you download steam, it gives you glass walls. if people touch them you'd probably have to clean them sporadically but, should be worth it for you.

Max prerendered frames 1?why?

If you are building one frame on the CPU before sending it to the GPU to process before it finally gets to the screen then your input lag can only be for that one frame.

If you're building, lets say, up to 3 frames before putting them to the GPU then you're going to see the results of your command input finally drawn onto the screen up to 3 frames later than it was actually processed.

This is different to double/triple buffering as that is for completed frame images, rather than data that needs to be rendered.


So, basically people set this to make sure it's not prerendering anything to reduce input lag.

The maximum pre-rendered frames option in nvida cpl is only actually a tweak for directX games though apparently.

tbh i consider myself decent at brain game. in pub TDM i tend to do better than everyone else because i understand its not FFA. in CA i follow my teammates and try to entrap enemies. in FFA i leech frags, and also getting buttrraped by FZ for 2 years kinda helped.

its just that my aim is below average, i've just recently started using rail effectively because before this i had terrible positioning with rail (melee rail anyone?)

There is disabled admin account on win7. I enabled that faggot but he still can't do shit like messing around WINDOWS folder etc.
Anyone knows how to take a shit on all these authorizations?

The account is disabled as it needs to exist, but they don't want it to show up on the login screen.

Flat out if you don't know the answers to both of the other questions you should NOT be messing with it unless you really enjoy malware and/or reinstalling windows.

Its how the OS is built. Its because this prevents you from deleting a file that makes the system crash or worse. There are ways to do it anyway, but I really don't think you should know about them. :P

Poor aim probably has nothing to do with network settings, you should be able to hit decent lg up to like 80 ping just from positioning. Although on a poor connection in a duel I would probably also only hit mid 20's. However in CA you can engineer situations better.

How much lg do you get against bots? Load up an ffa on thunderstruck and concentrate on lg. You should at least get 60%. If not, practice until you do. (And don't play like a ass, go for frags.)

That will remove ping from the equation and you will at least be able to see how your standard tracking is.

If you can get 60, that means you can track and the problem is somewhere else, like monitor or connection.

around 36% on nightmare bots(no spam), unless its one of those idiot bots like mynx and then i can get 41%~ish.

36% on a bot is pretty bad. Your problem is not your connection. Try change your mouse, mouse settings and switch to a 120hz/144hz/crt monitor. Everything has to feel comfortable and smooth, and you need to be able to track calmly, i.e. the crosshair goes where you want it to.

You absolutely need to at least be able to track bots. People move faster, but you have to be able to track slower objects before faster ones.

Also I wouldn't worry about age. My aim has generally gotten better and faster the older I've gotten, I'm about 31 and don't play much anymore, but when I do I generally outaim everyone except the 2000 elo duelers, and even them I can usually match in team modes. Muscle memory > reflexes.

Waiting to be in form is silly. Concentrate on always playing your best, and form will follow.

A good mouse is worth the try for better LG. That is the only hardware I really recommend you.

make sure you write down your pingtest.net and speedtest.net results before and after each one, because they may make things worse.

i doubt you will see any kind of change in your LG after these though.

other than working on your technique, if you want to improve your aim, you can buy better hardware (mouse with flawless sensor, large mouse pad, 144hz monitor, better connection) and lowering your sensitivity will improve your aim for obvious reasons.

aiming has a lot to do with how precise you generally are. Im not very precise, so i will always have subpar aim compared to other good aimers, that's just a fact i've learned to live with. Also, the spacial awareness and 3d feel of the game has alot to do with aim, not just the point and click factor. It's not a 2d pane you're aiming at, which is why movement is SO CRUCIAL.

Are you playing high or low sens? have you always done that? have you tried the other(high when low, and vice versa) There's walls for different people. I realized i will never be able to low sens aim the same way i do my weird setup now. But sens is again personal, but it WILL dictate your playstyle i found. When i found out that sens dictates playstyle, you can start to realize your and your setups potential, that's the beauty of quake.

Most people will say gaming has moved to low sens only, and that's very true in many many cases, but for ordinary people, not super talented to begin with, I say, try mixing it around, maybe you are a natural high sens gamer, being hold back by low sens(don't be fooled by "bad aim means my sens is too high")

also, one thing i realized specific to quake(possibly other games) is that vertical aiming has a bigger impact on how your aim is, compared to horizontal(which is what most people tweak to), i know it sounds weird, but for ME, PERSONALLY, that is the case.

edit: I forgot. I also realized that sens is NOT always completely personal as some people might say(partly) You have low sens, which is arm based tracking, but then you have a big middle ground which is some arm, but too low for proper finger and wrist tracking, making it extremely difficult, and people think they cant go higher, but, really, that's what they need to. Then you hit a spot where it becomes wrist and finger tracking, and after that, my personal opinion is, sens CAN get too high for a game like quake, where you can still finger track, but when you have just a little dodging, it's just too high to keep it on enemy and of you try, you hit the RSI zone of trying to control wrist and fingers.
