Well, you don't simply scrap a design you've come up with that is considered one of, if not the best ergonomic shape on the market.
If you are trying to say the concept of taking an already existing shell and putting other internals in is not questionable because Logitech did it as well, your point is rather moot.

That aside, this mouse would be interesting at $30. They have done literally nothing but buy existing stuff in bulk, having someone in China assemble it and now sell it at four (?) times the price. Oh, and they somehow screwed the firmware to where you can't go above 500Hz. I don't even want to know what other problems the thing has both in terms of performance and longevity.

But you know what? I seriously hope this POS has some success, just so legit brands see that there is a market hole found in light-weight mice.

I am not interested in this mouse, but I do hope it succeeds for the same reasons as you do. If this mouse succeeds, it won't only be a signal to the big brands, but maybe other small ones will pop up in some way.

I would certainly be interested if someone made a kit where you replace the internals of maybe old 500-shape or Microsoft's IntelliMouse Explorer :) That probably will not happen though.

it is a nice mouse to be sure; sensor feels ok (as well as it could on my currently shit setup), the shape agrees with my gorrilla-sized hands, and the qc issues aren't preventing me from enjoying it. unfortunately when you take all that into account, it's priced way too high to the point that i'd recommend an abyssus or g100s (mice this mouse should be competing with) over it.

I agree that the price is steep, especially for the build quality. But all 3310 mice perform differently. And the FM is one of the top 3 performing sensors on the market along with the MLT04 mice and the DA2013.

The summer edition fixed all the problems with the tracking.

essentially what you're saying is that the way the sensor is implemented into the mouse can be a more influential factor than the sensor quality itself (i agree because it's true), however you're saying that sensors that actually don't perform as well are the "top performing sensors" when in reality what you mean to say is that the implementation is simply better.
zowie mice have good sensors but appalling implementation and it causes a fuck ton of problems. the same way as the MLT04 sensor is total dogshit by modern standards until you overclock it to 500hz, regardless of how well it's implemented.

plus, I'd argue that the only two mice currently using the 3366 sensor (g303 + g502) have implemented it perfectly, but I'll admit that's a subjective statement.

You're right on the differentiation between sensor vs implementation, but the problem is that most people aren't aware of that differentiation, so when someone says "3366 is best sensor" they take it to mean "best performing sensor".

Thus I think it's important to specify "3366 has most potential" or something like that.

Mouse is in fact light, shape is good--similar to DA, Rival, EC1, etc. Sensor is a 3310, enotus reports low smoothness at all DPI, high max speed at low DPI settings of 7.6m/s and 4.6m/s at 1600 and 3200 DPI. Real and stated DPI variance is high. Can't change polling rate away from 500Hz, I've been told this is for performance reasons.
Left click on my unit may be defective as it has a lot of slack, ~1.5mm deadzone before actuation. Sensor performance I trust will be good but currently unable to test it very well as my only computer is a 5 year old gaming laptop with a GPU apparently in its death throes, and a microsoft surface pro. Can say I perform as well in aimbooster with this mouse as I do with my stripped g502 (3 lives, ~60 targets at 4.75 targ/sec) so I expect anomalously poor performance to be very unlikely.

expect this mouse to be a competitor (and killer tbh) of a mouse like the abyssus if the sensor performs as well as a 3310 should perform. Price point a bit high tho unfortunately for those who buy mice with milk money.

it's a world of difference and becomes so much nicer to swing around, both because of the weight and the lack of mouse wheel rattle. the big problem is, of course, that you lose a mouse wheel and you don't realize how big a sacrifice that is until you lose it :) . that being said i adjusted after a few hours of use and haven't looked back.

The wheel of the 502 is quite heavy for being a wheel :P That's one of the things I like about the mouse. Unlock it so it rolls free, and I can scroll through long pages in a breeze, and all my 300+ tabs in Firefox :P

if I remember right the mousewheel and it's assembly (including the smooth/click scrollwheel button) alone got me down to 100g. The rest of it came after I removed the side buttons and PCB to support it and the magnet/bottom part of the mouse. There's also a light funnel that goes from a blue LED to the G which is dead weight. Basically pop open the mouse and find what you don't want / consider dead weight and remove it. The only tricky part is that you have to remove the top skin (that has the G logo on it) if you want to remove the side buttons on the mouse.

What if you dont like sticky rubber coating, and that rubber thumb area? It is most gimmky shit introduced to mice, and no new mouse can just not have it, because it would be pointed out in some mainstream reviews. Just make mice out of plastic. No, it isn't too slippery if there is no rubber coating.

Text summary:
Sensor has pretty much 0 "smoothing", but CPI and sensor performance vary a lot from mouse to mouse. Probably the best mouse you can buy right now IF you get a good one.

I tried 3 of these mice. 1st one was around 465cpi on the 400 step. 2nd one was 400-480. 3rd one was 400.
The CPI also changes on its own. First it was 800, then the next day it was 950, then I cycled through back to the same step and it was back to 800. Reported to happen with the Corsair m45, Rival, and KPM as well.

My first and 3rd FM felt skippy, or like they would have micro freezes. My 1st FM performed better on a darker mousepad. My 2nd FM felt really inconsistent and "loose".

Played with the 3rd one for a few days and kind of got used to it. I would probably use the 1st one on a black pad over the other mice I've tried. Maybe even the 3rd one.

Couldn't make it malfunction. Got around 5m/s.

You don't get the full benefits of the 3310 sensor since there is no way to change the dpi in increments of 50.

The shape is pretty "meh". It's useable in all 3 grips because of its low weight, and doesn't have any major flaws (besides the unreachable side buttons), but it's certainly inferior to something like a larger aurora or wider FK1.

Build quality is good, buttons feel nice. Can't click the side buttons without releasing my grip on the mouse (bad). Scroll wheel too far back to scroll with middle finger.

Wheel is too hard to press, but because the scroll is firm too I get fewer accidental scrolls when clicking the wheel compared to other mice like the aurora.

Glossy side = good for dry hands, bad for sweaty. Rubber top isn't that great for dry hands. Sweat builds up on sides.

The feet are too thin and some of the mice have some sharp edges, so the mixture of those two things can cause some of the mice to scrape on the pad once in a while.

My summer edition has none of the tracking/sensor issues that my previous 3 originals had.

It feels great in both 2d and 3d environments.

I need to test a bit more in 1.6, but it seems likely that this is finally a valid replacement for my 3.0.

I received the "summer 2015" version of the FinalMouse and, while the sensor feels fucking awesome, the mouse is basically unusable for me. The buttons are way too sensitive. You can trigger mouse1 or mouse2 just by picking up the mouse and setting it back down quickly, which, if you have a low sensitivity, you will be doing constantly.

Really disappointed because aside from that it feels fucking great but this makes it 100% unusable to me. I emailed their support to see if that's normal and will post what I hear. Maybe it's fixable via firmware or something.

I think whatever the DPI issue is it should be fixed by the new SROM/hardware. Whatever is on Amazon is the version with the fixes.
