Well this is unfortunate because I have just received my Ninox Aurora today and I'm really looking forward to testing it out in Quake Live. I've tried it in Quake World, Quake Two and Quake Three, and it's really a magnificent piece of hardware. I would go as far as saying that it improves my aim.
DDOS attacks are no joke, depending on the complexity and skill of the DDOS attackers it could be days before they get their servers up. If it's a noob executing the DDOS it will be a simple block for a few IP's but generally it's more complicated than that. I've dealt with a few companies who had DDOS attacks that took their sites down. If they have their ducks in a row they will be up in a day. If not think 2-3 days.
This is not the first time they're under attack - same thing happened in the beginning of January and they managed to get the servers back up in hours.
My friend runs a site that makes a fair bit of money and he was approached by a hacking group demanding payment of like thousands!, he replied and said he wasn't going to pay and they can try and take his site down...... and they did... it was down for 3 weeks
Maybe id software were approached too? but whats amazing is that some companies do actually pay up to these hacking groups.
These guys, for example, are successfully defending from 150+ Gbps/s DDoS https://ddos-guard.net/
Problem is - does QL have enough funds to have their services?
This is nothing less than a relentless and barbaric attack on the thriving and peaceful community of QL. I demand these acts of terrorism are ceased immediately, so we can resume our virtual fragging ceremonies.
if skill is defined as capabbility for careful positional mindgames rather than going nuts motoric whise, then no. i do not think i share this view though.
the ironic by the meaning of DERP* is that if a lulz is a smile and (someone) have fun ...
...you ever had fun without (one) that have no fun ...
thats DERP*
the meaning by DERP* can be money*
a giant penis*
maybe very likly

who get a few grey hair earlier.
Unrelated to the DDOs (well, while I wait anyways), I like the QL physics. They're pretty fun, like QW's. RJ anywhere, go crazy off the walls and get the simple jumps going smoothly. Yea, it takes less skill to execute but it's not like noobs can use these tricks skillfully just cuz they're technically more accessible.
yeah has to be that for sure, i mean someone who awards 2 pro tokens to new players with good abilities that need practice and plays vs anyone, without discriminating high or low elo... etc
You guys are butthurt i abandoned the sinking ship?
If something from the past is better and you only realize it later, its a form of moving on to leave you current bitch of a girlfriend and going back with your ex. Mind blown?
Hola amigos, my 1999 VW polo's transmission broke down, but it's ok since I am a progressive individual so I am moving on and my brand new 1995 Peugeot 205 is a massive step forward.
The GTI was a successul WRC car and shit in the 1980s. Doesn't matter that mine isn't. And disregard the fact me driving it won't resemble the timing and reaction of Timo Salonen* , is all about moving on people.
* Finsky chempion, so is analogy to Milton. (qw legend not dude who wrote Paradise Lost/Found in 17th sextury)
cpma has a pretty cool way of doing server cfg's.
I think you can write a cfg per gametype and even per map to change different things.
I never personally ran any.
If i remember correctly there should be help files in the cpma folder somewhere for cfg's and server cfg's.
I'm surprised the vigilant eyes of the cpm community haven't already swooped down on your question like vultures.
how do you even find games in q3 these days? tried qtracker recently and it only showed like 10 servers (most excessive or noghost etc) with ppl in em.
