The shaking in the first section made me downright angry, the extremely fast cuts in the second part made it unwatchable. I feel a lot less secure about my sexuality now that i have seen this and i think i wont let my kids play with yours.

the picture quality is perfect, music fits too.

The fast transitions make it so you can't appreciate the frags. TBH most of the looked standard and not even frag movie worthy.

Well I do like fast-paced videos with good music sync. This one does fit those criterias but... it's bit too much as I can't really appreciate all the frags. Even if I get the artistic choice and like very much the edition.

I enjoyed it.

So much potential, but its just a FRAGmovie. Dont get me wrong, a quakecon fragmovie is awesome, but this is frag after frag after frag babababoom. It is waaaaay too much.

There's worse than a bad fragmovie : fragmovies you know could have been good.

As everybody else said, it's edited like a bad 90's video. The game audio is clipped to shit.

Less editing/effects and better content please.
Maybe the content was decent, could not really tell due to the utterly useless stutter and repeat and what fucking ever effects.
The music was kind of terribad as well.

Take away about 90% of the editing and chance the tunes and it would be a great fragmovie.

I'm on 1:30 right now and I don't want to continue for obvious reason. I wondrered why so bad poll results because I did like it very much until the first minute and song is just really well choosen but then that annoying nevereding reapeat effect came in.

trash indeed. if there was a good moment somewhere in there, I wasn't capable of seeing it thx to the overediting (like, maybe 5% of all frags have been kept pure). one could have taken a handful of average pub CA and FFA demos and produced a movie virtually indistinguishable from this. the music was not bad (but not good either), except the bit right at the start. Whoever sung the original take of the ave maria must be rotating in her grave (assuming she's dead).

Loved it! The last part with the russian song and really fast cuts it's my favourite, great job!

lmao at the initial cacophony that almost made me quit the video right away. I wish it did.
This was as retarded as Michael Bay's movies. Half of it is a useless slowmo on a useless rotating cam in third person. The other half is a succesfull attempt to take the frags out of context, making them look as frags on bots in practice mode.
Additionaly, it gave me a headache because i tried to understand what's going on, knowing the material was awesome. Therefore the hating. 3/10

thank you for taking the time to make this. Whether or not the quality is good or not, these players will have something awesome to remember..for these couple of cherished days that so few get to truly experience.

Shit is heavy, loved it.

didnt see any movie-frags, eg if u spec random mediocre CA pub games = same frags as in this vid, nothing special really. I'd 5/10 for first half and 1/10 to second due to shitty rus emo music and too fast rhythm (almost unwatchable).

what the fuck did I even watch.

I can see that it may be hard to produce this, to edit and synchronize properly between the audio and video (frags, special cue moments) to output the desired result.

But I am not pleased. As someone said, it felt like a 90s music video, or rather like one of those movies, where there is just action or some other things going on, but without relating to the characters in the movie itself. No relation, no identification, means no interest. At least for me. The pacing was fast, yes. But it was uninteresting. Why were especially those frags chosen, we have just witnessed in this movie? Why was there no build-up, some ambient, something which makes the action itself more interesting.

Of course this is not a full-feature movie, and fragmovies per se are a niche genre within the niche genres of videogame movies or rather clips.

From a point of view, seeing it as a movie - it is uninteresting, despite a lot of synced moments. It's overdone, the repeating effect, and the reason is in itself. If it would have been used for a climatic or dramatic moment as a dramatic tool - that would have been something. But here it is just done again and again and again. Same as in those Saw-Sequels, who in contrast to the first part, reduce the thriller element up to that point that there is only splatter and gore effects left with bland characters left, where it is indifferent who gets killed and who survives.

Looking at the context, top-international-players competing at one of the biggest (sadly only one mentionable) events in the world for Quake, there could theoretically have been told great stories, as seen in the past with the cooller, strenx and other movies. But maybe that is another level and the creator certainly didn't want to go at that level. Or else this movie, starring so many great players, would be as blown-up as the Avengers-movies are (with more characters and more star-actors to come), that they don't give enough space for the audience to connect to more than just a few out of the dozens of characters there are involved in the ever-on-going action.


From a video-clip perspective. Clip on clip, on sync on sync. Frag on frag. Showcasing what is possible. But unfortunately all the frags are just as equal to random other frags from any newbie - due to the fact that there is no appreciation for the single action and why that moment may have been crucial for whatever reason.


If I try to understand the artistic point of view, this clip-sequence "Trash 3.0" is done to lead to anger.

"You must hate. Again."

With that in mind, the creator has just reached his goal. I am not hating, but I am upset that so many hours have been invested in this, selecting special frags and doing the effects - I can imagine how hard that might have been - just to have this messed up product. This is equal to the dramatic experience one has with the latest movie Maze Runner 2 (meh). But perhaps this is good for those, who want to shock their buddies and especially those from other softer game genres, such as MOBA and RTS games, with this straight action-videoclip.


As much as there are different preferences and tastes in music, food and other things, I can imagine that this "movie" - compared to the Ulbe movies (also mentioned earlier), can have a following. Either you like it, or not. Or maybe you are inspired. And in the end perhaps someone else afterwards will try to accentuate certain aspects what he (or she) has seen here and produce something mind-blowing? Who knows. This fragmovie is wicked enough to spawn that. Or to reveal what to avoid.

It's a shocker for some. But not for me.

this movie is more like a music video, as if this song was about quake and this piece was the video clip for it. its not about the players, its just frags trying to emphasize the music. if you see it this way than its a really good video.

You could fill it with average pub CA frags by nonames and achieve exactly the same effect. Just saying.
