Yes, there is a movie from the Humiliation 2 tournament in Warsaw. Was great, not so many frags in it but still was an awsome movie to watch...and all those pro-promode-players with their leet t-shirts :D

i just read somewhere that cpm is now slower than it was last time i played. Drag or some crap, is this true? :|

In promode2 yes, there is drag. promode1 is still without a drag. but you hardly notice it. It was needed for CTF. I haven't played any ctf or tdm tho in version 1.2.
The drag means that above 800 ups it is harder to maintain or to gain speed or smth.. don't really notice it tho, but i'm a newb nowadays :)

the drag starts when you reach 640 ups. @ 640 ups you need to accel 1 ups / second to maintain your speed. I believe that @ something like 700 ups you need to accel 22 ups / second to maintain speed. Untill 700 ups you hardly notice it so it's not really affecting normal movement during duels or TDM. It does affect CTF because there's more space to get really fast etc. In duel it only really affects forward rocketjumping.

It was neccesary to add the drag because in pm1 CTF was a bit of a one-man show (look @ some fast caps with rocketjumps and you understand why). Though it's still a bit controversial.

Not for this thread but i think clipquake was and will always be the BEST q3 movie ever. It's short, good quality, the frags are superb, the music is great, its synched and the overall feeling of it just pulls u into quake3. Anyone who is thinking bout playing q3 should watch it first.

One of the best CPMA movies that I've seen is old, but is apparently pretty hard to find (e.g. isn't even mentioned in this thread), is "The Lost Soul - Episode 5" by Snizh-Fize.

The entire movie is CPMA in Clan Arena on dm6...it starts slow, but is very well synched to the music and has a few very unusual frags. Also, the music has been used in several other movies, but I think this one was the first that used it (I still don't know the name of the music, though :/ )

I still have this, but don't have any experience with getting hosts for files...otherwise, I'd upload it.

cpma ca on pro-q3dm6 doesnt really show the potential of cpma as a mod imo...

Heh, true, but this thread is only about cpma movies in general, not about showing off the mod.

Anyway, a short movie only has so many scenes in it, so having a few (or even only one) map doesn't make a huge difference, and can even give it a theme. Even the super-popular movie by v00 is something like 50% cpm3 (no, I haven't timed it, but you get the point ;0 )

my favorites are the posts bashing some of these vids by osp-ers. anyone knocking on fast bunny hopping/rocket-heavy gameplay as inferior makes sense.

i also love how all of these are before Vo0 made off with nearly a quarter million dollars because of that.

and nobody will make that much in quake 4 "osp/vanilla"-style gameplay.

q2/vq3/vq4 = celsius, qw/q3cpm = fahrenheit. they can both measure skill (instead of temperature) both low and high, and are both perfectly fine for competition. however one just is easier to get a feel for (the only reason Americans still <3 fahrenheit), since any small differences get amplified in the final product you see/feel/play. in painkiller it was incredibly easy to follow what was going on, at the highest level of competition. in vq4 so far its like "wow his lg accuracy is 10% higher" or "he moved this small amount at the perfect time". if it was pk/cpma the difference would be "wow he fragged his ass". i'm sure everyone loves the accessible gameplay of the newer FPS(s), but if this is to be a spectator-friendly sport, it has to be something people can understand. people need to grow out of the "its noob" mentality, nothing is noob if good people play it. its also doubly worse when its used to describe fast quake gameplay, that makes baby carmack want to cry (or romero or whoever made Quake1 what it was).
