really pi$$ed off, appears ive lost 4 yrs if data! :(

i have a 160gb sata drive partitioned in to 3 sections,

having had windows 2000 on there for ages i went to put xp on there this morning (on the 40gb c partition), the d partition contained all my backup data, files, videos the lot!!

having gone through the winxp setup after booting from cd, i attempted to format just the c partiton on this disk, however the setup has removed all of my partitions on the disk leaving just a 160gb unpartitioned space meaning ive lost everything!!

i remembered afterwards that the disk had been converted to a dynamic disk while using 2000, and im guessing the xp setup has converted it back to a basic disk removing all partition info the lot on there...

my question is, is it possible to restore the directory and file structure on the disk, soley the d drive, im not worried about the c partition as this will be formatted eventually for winxp... or have i lost everything???

ive been looking for some bootable cd's to check the file structure and attempt to repair partitions but im not sure if this will help on this occasion, if anyone knows any useful app's or has any advice, please chip in anything you can.. im kinda in a bit of a hole at the moment :(
