Summer is almost here and things are starting to heat up, not only outside but also in the Quake Live Competitive scene as well: The FACEIT Spring Season Finals!

The beginning of the season saw some unexpected players rise up to the challenge with the absence of Evil, but in the end it was the Russian who topped the standings, winning a total of five out of ten Sunday Cups. Him and Cypher will be joined by ash, pavel, Madball, Agent, Sev3n, and dem0n to fight for the $500 prize purse and the title of Spring Champion.

These eight players are divided into two groups, with all matches played in best-of-three. The top two players will head into a single elimination best-of-five bracket.

I ( Romain "dem0n" Leclercq) will be attending QuakeCon 2014 and participating in the Intel® QUAKE LIVE Duel Masters Invitational Championship as well as the PCPartPicker QUAKE LIVE® Capture the Flag Open. Community favourite Memento_Mori provided for all of my travel and hotel expenses.

QuakeCon 2014 will take place at the Hilton Anatole in

Dallas from the 17th to the 20th of July 2014.

The PCPartPicker QUAKE LIVE® Capture the Flag Open will feature 4 vs. 4 competitions for up to sixteen (16) teams battling it out in a double elimination bracket and best-of-three games format. Players who come out on top will share prizes of $20,000, including $8,000 for the team of champions. Following the playoffs, the top two teams will then face off in a climatic showmatch where an additional $2,000 will be up for grabs.

"The June 2014 Standard arena rotation is now online. On the first Monday of each month, we will be cycling the Standard arena pool. Rather than only having access to the same standard arenas day in and day out, each month we will now feature 26 arenas selected as playable for Standard-level matches.

Newly released arenas will remain exclusive for at least three months, but every other arena is eligible to be included in the cycle."

The FACEIT Spring Season Week #10 has finally arrived. This past week we saw

evil win his fourth straight event, his dominance has been established and well be beyond a shadow of a doubt if he wins this Sunday as well.

He easily made his way right to the finals where he beat

Cypher in three straight games to play an absolutely perfect tournament again by not losing a single map to any of his opponents. This is a remarkable feat considering it is the fourth week in a row that he has pulled this off.

This week I am sure will be just as entertaining so tune in or you can already sign-up now! The cup starts at 08:00 CDT.

Unfortunately due to the studio being occupied and ddk hosting another event, we are unable to stream this week's cup. If anyone wants to stream, he's free to do so!

I'm happy to announce our new movement guide series!

Before I get down to the nitty gritty bits, I understand that I'm posting on ESR at the moment. Many of you guys will already know most, if not everything that is being discussed in these videos. Please note that I'm not trying to teach you something new, but rather newer players that you may or may not be connected with. If you find these guides appropriate, then help us use these videos as a tool for getting newer players up to scratch with the complex movement physics of our beloved game.

Now, we currently have 6 episodes. Although it can very well be more than this, if anyone has suggestions for other guides then we are happy to create more episodes.

On Sunday 1st of June there will be a single elimination cup played on the classic QuakeWorld maps for players who want to keep going in the summer. Games are played best of three maps on DM2, DM4, DM6, ZTNDM3 and Aerowalk. Notable signups so far include

To participate in the cup you need to register on the site and then also sign up for the cup itself. Before the cup you are also required to check-in to show that you're indeed available and ready to participate. As you all have noticed by now we have implemented new Leagues and Ladders on the site and we just want to let you know that these leagues are directly tied to all Premium Subscribers. The Leagues work off of our Match Making System/Indivdual Challenge System. The Cups are completely separate from the Leagues and Ladders. So if you want to get in on the League Prizes start challenging players to a match.
