how dissapointing, i was expecting something special from the tactically superior qw but the communication was below our clan in ql. on top of that the extra noise in voice is so fucking annoying i couldnt watch all of it

It might bear repeating then, that these are teams in training, completely new to 4on4 as a team, and even some individual players.

I think this kind of gameplay is just as interesting to watch as the highly polished squads (such as you can find in EQL) - because it shows you what a team in its very beginning stages of formation is capable and incapable of doing, and what is going on between the teamplayers in their very first games together.

edit: Just to emphasize - these games have nothing to do with tactical superiority or teamplay excellence, and everything to do with an honest and revealing look at the beginning of a 4on4 team and 4on4 players

Erm because qw has proper binds and chat tokens unlike QL, hell even Q3osp was 20x better that QL

You have to talk more in QL plus its a slower game with teamoverlay/team model sounds while in QW you need to know where your team mates are or you'll end up either dying cus you aren't sure or team killing, even with overlay and team models QL added the team arrow over head thru walls you pretty much cant tk in QL :P

Q3 tdm has always been prettty poor compared QW and Q2 teamplay wise...

Coming from TFC I always had a gargantuan preference for voice comms, it just felt more immediate, and less distracting than in game binds. When I see a chat log from a 4v4 QW match (especially amongst high level teams) I can't even focus on the game. I just end up reading logs all day.

I doubt TFC has/had the kind of teambind/communication system that QW has. The binds display far more information more quickly than voice comms ever could.

And when you play enough you can read the teammessages and still play just fine.

I would agree that mm2 is the best long term for exactly the reason you mentioned - it is faster

But mm3 is nice for beginners because it is much more natural and easier to talk to each other rather than glancing to a corner of your screen every single second

I think the teams are using both most of the time. Each is better for certain things and while you can use MM2 for everything it's hard to setup a config for it and memorize so many keys (literally your whole keyboard will need to be bound).

Yeah, this is really bad communication imo, and phil! is not doing good job advertising QW. I think for most clans in QW using voice com is worse than sticking to messages, since QW has really really elaborated messagesystem, ie. you can code stuff.

Feel free to do a better job than me in advertising QW.

Ah sorry Phil! I think I didn't communicate very good here, I really like your job but for some reason this mm3 match was not very good, I've been planning to record some more elaborate 4on4 mm3 for a while, we'll see if I do anything about it though :-)

I suppose nobody would undestand much of our mm3 since we've formed a sort of slang in 4on4 dm 8)

perhaps you should simply add that they are NEWLY FORMED teams to your description very clearly. me being no native english speaker also simply overread the "team-in-training" term and thought you would have chosen high class teams/players for a insight.

still i find the idea nice. everyone started sometimes or came to a new team and had to get comm freshly organized and structured again. so i find this a interesting aspect for beginners.

Phil you should record our next match so people can hear you, haha. I think our team talks quite a bit more than both these teams especially Vegeta Hoes. These teams are extremely new so it makes sense they don't have that great communication for a variety of reasons. I think the videos are very interesting however and show decent matches as well. These teams are actually tied 1-1 in BO3 series and hopefully will finish up tonight. Then we start playoffs. Vegeta Hoes are actually the top ranked team without a loss yet so if GQ (Sexy) can beat them it'd be nice.
