its rly good and fast after u learn it even tho i agree its a bit too cramped to dodge properly and rl is a bit too dominant .

It wont become the next big duel map.
I think id can be happy if it still gets played from time to time in one month.

Its small, no real open area for fights.
And it results in a seeking each other instead of knowing your enemys position and outplaying him.
I personally dont like it and i doubt that it will become big :(

How many times have you played it? It's very easy to be able to outplay opponants on the map

And give a try to gothic rage too !

In general this map has lots of potential I think. The flow is really good, distances and balance seem alright and the layout appears to be interesting.
IMO the only problem with the map is that the areas around the main items are rather cramped. It results in "I hit you and you hit me"-styled gameplay - positioning and dodging doesn't really mean much. I think it would be better to open up MH and RA room a little more. For the MH room I'd suggest to remove the wall of the GA corridor with the tele exit so there is some more room for positioning, attacking the MH and for vertical fights. All major fights in that room occour on that small lower MH level as the top level doesn't offer enough space anyway. RA room is not too bad but I would like to see the platform + pillar gone while the upper level (RG corridor) should get opened up and extended. Could get rid of the accel pad too then and have an alternative upwards connection instead (e.g. 180 degrees corridor like on dm6). Anyone who wants to get up there really fast will rocket jump anyway.... That's just my 2 cents - I think the map plays pretty well already but it could be improved even more IMO.

agree with you. besides what you said i'd like to make RA hole deeper and wider and add normal stair to it
plus tele exit from this hole must be more dengerous, mb leading you upwards and forcing to fall or jump like on aerowalk

I'm no duelist but this map I've been a big fan of ever since I first tried it. The tightness of it may be an issue for some, but for me I find it great for fast-paced, in-yer-face games which I like. In fact, if areas were made more open, it'd probably play more like the usual duel map and thus have less originality about it. It's a refreshing break from the same old style of level design we seem to see these days.

The new DM maps are far too cramped for quake. Lots of skinny corridors doesn't work.

I like it but I have no idea if the pros will though.

Aerowalk is also pretty cramped if you think about it...
