most bmw`s have 190 horse power, normal hatch backs have 100-130 horse power,

the m5 has 520 horse power or near, its just a touring car made for public roads with extra science because no1 would spend 50k on a car with a massive bodykit on

the slr is mercedes slr is the comptition and roughly the same specs as the m5,

brabus is a tuning company who took the retail slr and gave it 300 more horse power, and it will get to 200mph in 20secs

I have no idea why you bring up the slr, perhaps you are making the same point as I am, but if so, why not bring up any other less embarrassing car, like honda civic, or m3? anyway, my point was that ALL overpowered luxury brand sedans are ridiculous waste of resources and should not make any pretense of being 'sporty'.

M5 doesnt fail, everything on it is the size of a normal BMW. you can take the kids to school and go shopping and do all other everyday tasks, and the same applies to the SLR [mclaren/brabus], they both just have 500+ horse power

both companies have always bragged about using formula 1 to develope technology for road cars, when BMW brought out a team and got their own the M5 was released with 500 + horse power by the end of the season, then SLR was released or mercedes would loose face

why does it have the 'M' designation??? that's why it fails. high horse power in a heavier car with comfortable suspension is a waste of resources. either you have acceleration and handling of a sports car good enough for a track, or you have a spacious and comfortable saloon. a compromise is a failure at both.

it what makes them both good, along with the onboard computer then control packers and diff, traction control and whatever else, and make the horse power work whatever the weather and as a everyday car
