I was about to install Windows 10 and then I realized I didn't know if the mouse feel was gonna suck dick and need a fix or not. Anyone know? MarkC or somebody?
Win10 has the start bar back by default. It's different/weird though. And mine likes to randomly refuse to open until I go click on the other monitor's start button a few times so fuck this thing anyway.
been on 8.1 for a few months and applied fixes and such... just feels weird, man. thinking of making a ~150$ quake box with xp on it just for proper mouse feel. sad times
it's hard to explain. I've tried 3 mice on 3 pads (all combos) and something just feels off about it. its really noticeable when im moving my mouse diagonally.
I haven't noticed. What specs? How long has it been installed? I have yet to find anything wrong 8.1 but I've only had it installed for a month. Other than it being Microsoft....
Open game, play full screen >> alt+enter >> lag .>> alt+enter >> lag gone
it's to do with the fact aero can't be disabled on windows 8, this issue was also present in windows 7 but aero could be disabled.
I have to wonder if MS is ever going to make a Windows with proper mouse input with no layers and filters around it, just pure raw input no acceleration from the get go.
Any confirmation on it's implementation in Windows 10?
If I remember correctly, it comes with disabled EPP, and no accel. At least the MouseMovementRecorder showed it was pure raw input and I didn't feel any funny business with the mouse.
So, I'd say.. maybe they're doing it right..
Often publishers will choose to enable accelerative options by default because they think of touchpad input on notebooks.
Generally all of those "optimizations" that can be done stir from the fact that the OS are multipurpose packages for a variety of platforms and a variety of uses.
Would be nice if Windows or Linux had dedicated "desktop" and going further "gaming desktop" distributions or packages.
Should even boost Windows sales when you have the option of not using the same product on all devices and for all purposes.
"I only had time to do the upgrade to get the free key and not a clean install yet, but after doing the upgrade, the cursor feels a bit heavier with more weight to it on Win 10 than it did for Win 8.1. I'm not sure if it's due to the OS or Nvidia drivers because I didn't like any drivers past 350.12 on Win 8.1 and it automatically installs the newest one...
It's also MUCH HARDER to get rid of the bloat on Win 10. Things like Win Defender have more services running and it won't let you turn them off. If you do force it off with the registry, you get notifications about it every 10 minutes. Things like this plus forcing you to have Windows update blindly install whatever they want for device drivers make it an extremely annoying nanny state OS for me so far.
I'll try the clean install and see if that changes anything mouse-wise, but in it's current state, it honestly seems worse than Win7/Win8 to me due to these annoyances + seemingly heavier cursor feel (might be post 350.12 Nvidia driver fault though)."
got w10 on my own desktop now, i gotta say on my rig (my friend whose pc i tried doesnt have a 144hz screen) the mouse feels even better than on win8.1
