You're mistaking the role of a manager and the role of a team captain. They aren't even close to the same thing though. IIRC Latrommi was the TDM captain last season (or two). Cooke has been 102's manager for a while now.

Who would actually want to play against a team where 50% of their starting lineup are cheaters?! Its just pathetic and imo a terrible adminning decision.

wtf, why are they allowed to play in cups? let alone even touch the game.

Yea, It just totally sends out the wrong message.

I was basically told that "its been 4 years" , "if you have any proof of them still cheating, then prove it, otherwise the decision is made".

My thoughts are:

1) Its hugely time consuming trying to prove even an obvious cheat is cheating beyond literally anyones doubt, and pretty much nobody has the time anymore to do this. I know i certainly don't and wouldn't.

2) VAC clearly isn't worth s**t.

3) I believe the decision was not unanimous but a majority vote by the main admins of the league.

4) Have any of these admins ever actually spent hours and hours looking at demos of dirty cheaters to try and get rid of them? I highly doubt that because if so...then no way they would have made this decision imo.

5) What sort of message does this actually send out to clean and legitimate players who want to compete in leagues? That cheating is kinda not so bad all of a sudden?

The message is about giving people a 2nd chance. After 4-5 years, they had time to mature and think it over.

The decision was not unanimous, but the two TDM admins agreed.

Also, I've had my fair share of demo watching back with ClanBase and ESL... I don't mind watching more if something serious comes up :)

We'll see how it goes. Hopefully they don't forget to record demos ;)

The problem is that all of the cheaters who have been caught so far were only caught because they were stupid and careless. It really is only the absolute idiot cheaters who ever got caught (sorry if you are one of them, but its true:p).

Cheating within gaming imo is more of a mentality thing and its kinda unlikely they'll just stop, but they'll just get far far more cautious.

Anyone could download a bot to hit 40% lg , 60% rail and they'd be totally unbustable. That IS the reality. No amount of demos will ever prove this.......

Could I ask, would you and the other admins like to play vs them yourselves in league matches? I've heard comments from people who are playing them soon in league matches who aint too happy about having them in the league at all.

IMO, you should consider speaking to the people competing in the leagues you are running and gathering their thoughts on this specific "decision".

We didn't get much feedback about this, really. So I don't think it's that much of a big deal.

Of course some cheaters are un-bustable. And if you focus on this, you'll never play anymore because of the frustration.

We make that league, we get to make some choices. We won't be asking the community every time there is a decision to be made.

It's a bit annoying to have people tell us what we should do while they're not doing much :)

Barrysworld was a league that me and so many others have such positive memories of from the olden days, before literally anyone cheated in the top tier. An era where quake felt super popular and fun.

Clanbase was simply the benchmark for many many years, and probably THE competition people so badly wanted to win, but also just compete in, especially eurocups.

BiBs CTF league brought a real buzz about CTF again in the early quakelive days and made it all seem really fun.

HoQ was the first league in quake's literally 20 year league history (across Quake 1/2/3/4/live) that made cheating acceptable. What a legacy to have, huh :p

Totally true yes but at least you can give them a simple doping test again and then if neccessary say "ok bye!" again.

I was banned on a good 10+ accounts (once he knew it was me) until he decided he would allow me to play on an alias. The reason he banned that one is simply because I made the ESR post outing myself.

If you watched the demo as well, you would realise there are no.cheats, that was the point. If you think I am, try and prove it.

While I understand your position - spending hours to bust someone and being the victim of their cheating - I do believe that they deserve a second chance. During this time, QuakeLive was rife with cheaters and that can really impact the mentality of players. I'm not trying to justify it, just saying that it was a bad period for everyone.

However, I don't agree with Lithz calling you out here and I know that if I were in your position I'd be pretty angry about it. It's childish, arrogant and is a slap in the face to you and everyone else who spent hours trying to clean up the dirty community that QuakeLive had become.

Ultimately though, people have done far worse and suffered less punishment. Look at the parents of Madeleine Mccann! Whether they killed her, or she was taken due to their negligence, the only punishment they've received is the knowledge that their actions have caused the loss of their daughter. Fragma and Lithz have been punished, they were banned continuously for months-years and unable to engage in the community of the game they both love.

I hope you can let his comment go and forgive him but if not, I'd hope you can at least forget about it.
