Finding the best CSGO gambling sites in 2019 is not that easy. CSGO gambling has had a chequered past to say the least, with many sites being shut down and penalised because of illegal activity.

There is clearly a demand among some Counter-Strike lovers to bet on their favourite game but for the sector to be sustainable long-term, CSGO gambling sites must comply with the laws - primarily for the safety and security of esports fans but also for the sake of themselves.

Global eSports market report for 2016 (7 comments)
Posted by viaIImaximus @ 17:03 CST, 29 February 2016 - iMsg
A research company named, Newzoo, has published a global eSports market report for the year 2016. It's an 80-page report with details on the global and local eSports markets, since this report is not publically available and needs to be purchased; Newzoo, however, did release some interesting facts to the public eye.

According to the Newzoo's last year report, the revenues for the year 2015 were $325 million worldwide. This year's prediction sees the revenue growing to $463 million, which correlates to a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 43%. According to their long term prediction in the year 2019 eSport revenues will reach approximately a jaw-dropping $1.1 billion! The number of eSports Enthusiasts watching their favorite games will be 131 million, in addition, another 125 million Occasional Viewers will tune in mainly for the big international events.

Looking at it region wise, North America will strengthen its lead in terms of revenues while Asia will continue its explosive rate of increasing numbers in audience. Digging into the numbers, the US will see $175 million generate through merchandise, event tickets, sponsorships, online advertising and media rights. What is significant here is the fact that most of the revenues will flow back to the game publisher, earning them additional profits from the same game. Basically, one might not care, but only if it implies the publisher is ready to give back to the community and support their game in eSports through prize money, as we have seen recently done by Valve. Looking at Asia, we can see China and Korea leading the Asian region with 23% of global eSports revenues, totaling $106 million prediction for the present year. Viewership is rapidly picking up in Asian countries, more specifically that being 44% of global eSports Enthusiasts.

Wouter Sleijffers, CEO of Fnatic, comments:
Esports remains an industry with great potential for the years to come. Esports is a very diverse space, and for established and worldwide esports brands like Fnatic, it’s vital to follow the developments using reliable and complete data. Our partnership with Newzoo means that we can both stay on top of our game.

As is with all predictions, it is debatable how accurate they are but we can safely conclude that eSports is on the rise, especially business wise. It is now more evident than ever that the main focus of event organizers and game publishers will be on media coverage and advertisement. With streaming services reaching smartphones and other 'smart' gadgets you will seldom find yourself unable to follow your favorite eSport game. We can already see some traditional media companies entering this market and with Twitch being the biggest streaming service at the moment, it is going to be interesting to see how things will develop in the upcoming years. If the companies like ESPN and Red Bull start screening eSport games on TV, we might witness a big shift in the way eSport coverage will be handled in the future.

Valve lights it up for CS:GO (56 comments)
Posted by viaIImaximus @ 15:37 CST, 24 February 2016 - iMsg
On the official Counter-strike: Global Offensive blog, Valve has released an announcement. All Majors, as in tournaments, have had the prize pool of $250,000 which has never been exceeded by any tournament until now. Starting with the upcoming MLG Columbus 2016, which takes place March 29 through April 3, all future CS:GO majors will have a prize pool of $1 million!

With this kind of financial support that Valve is putting into CS:GO, they hope to bring in even more players and viewers. According to Valve, CS:GO was the second-most watched game on Twitch in 2015, League of Legends being the first, of course.

On a side note, Valve has released another update for CS:GO fixing some current bugs. You can check the release notes.

Many of you have seen 8PLAY tag in the name of one of the best QL players - Russia Evil. For some of you it would be interesting to know the story behind it. One of the famous old school quaker China Jibo has founded in Russia his own game publishing company named INFIPLAY. Recently with both Russia Cooller and Russia Mikes (producer for EU and RU versions) he released their first game with localization for European auditory - Headshot. It is a casual online-shooter in browser, inspired by classical era FPS games like Counter-strike and Crossfire. Best thing about the game is that to play you don't have to download any kind of plug-in. Just create an account and start playing, give it a try and say your thoughts.

DOOM multiplayer update (69 comments)
Posted by viaIImaximus @ 15:04 CST, 22 February 2016 - iMsg
Bethesda.net just released a new short article about DOOM's multiplayer. What is presented in this article are two things, a new mode and new items. Warpath being the new mode in DOOM multiplayer features a "king of the hill" type of mode with the difference in capture-points being in circular motion. To quote this rather complicated explanation:
Meanwhile, a game-changing demon rune moves in lockstep on the opposite side of the path. Players have to decide where they want to be: rushing toward the power-up to turn into a Marine-destroying Demon; clustered around the capture point to defend or steal control; or simply roaming around looking to pick off any errant foes.
There's a gif in the article showing brief in-game action.

The second new feature named Hack Modules represents single-use disposable items. Apparently, these items will be available to you through game's progression system (XP points?). What makes these items a bit different than to what we are usually used to, are their properties. One being a Supply Timer which displays respawn timers on pickups and this is 'awesome' because and I quote:
So when you’re running through the world, you might see that an armor piece is coming back in 10 seconds and you could decide to hang back and take it.
Other Hack Modules include Retribution, Scout, Vital and Power Seeker check the article for more detailed explanation about each one of them.

How these will function and affect the game we will just have to wait and see. The item idea is not bad at all but I would rather see it in some sort of a tutorial or training about duels or TDM. That would give the new players who are entering the FPS arena games for the first time, some insight on how timing and opponent positioning works.
