After a successful Sanetopia Cup #1 the great Sanetopia Cup is back! The first event had over 40 sign ups and a grand total of $500 in prize money. This time

Sane brings you Sanetopia 2: The Return. We hope to get even more sign ups and community donations this time around! As a North American tournament all matches will be played on N.A. servers. That said players from all over the world can also sign up but should be prepared to play with higher ping. Luckily reflex has amazing netcode!

Sunday 17:00 CDT, 12 July 2015 you're invited to the eleventh North American Duel Cup! The format will remain Double-Elimination Drop-Drop. July's map pool will be composed of the QuakeCon 2015 duel maps in addition to T9(House of Decay) and a map chosen by the community. Sign ups are open now, but you must still check in on the same day as usual, and please make sure you are signed up before 16:50 CDT to avoid being locked out of the brackets!

Format

Double Elimination Drop-Drop
Upper-Bracket matches are Best of One until Semi finals. Remaining matches are played as a Best of Three.
Lower-Bracket matches are all Best of One until the lower-bracket finals. LB Finals is a Best of Three.

• The opening Upper-Bracket games are Best of ONE matches. This changes when the tournament progresses into the Semi-Finals and beyond. The Semi-Finals is a Best of Three

• Games from the Lower-Brpacket games are all Best of ONE until the very end. The Lower-Bracket Finals is a Best of Three (this is done because the game determines who gets 3rd place and who moves on to the grand finals.

• The Grand Finals are unique. The lower bracket finalist must win two best of three sets to take first place. The upper bracket finalist is assumed to have proven themselves by not dropping a set throughout the tournament and so they must only win one best of three set to take first place.

• In a "Drop-Drop" tournament the map in a Best of One is decided by the players dropping maps until 1 map remains and is played. In a Best of Three players will drop maps until three remain. Players will each pick one of the three maps and the map remaining will serve as a tie breaker.
BO1: drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop > Last Map is Played
BO3: drop, drop, drop, drop, pick, pick > Last Map is Tie-Breaker if needed

• Occasionally someone will ask "I don't have 3 days and 300 duels played! Can I still play?" and the answer is: "probably, but you should get in touch with me first". This rule exists to deter aliasing so the tournaments can be seeded properly.

• Duel servers (unlike classic TDM and CTF) require no modification to the server settings and can simply be made by choosing a map and location. The information below can can be copied to make a server with the password: duelcup (if you choose a different password please tell us via irc!)

RESPECT THE PACO announces its lineup for the QuakeCon 2015 Tri-Master Championship.

The lineup consists of duel expert Chance who's also a QuakeCon veteran with multiple top 8 finishes. The rest of the lineup is specialized in CTF which is Madrigal, t1g and eXodus.

But wait, there's more! You too can RESPECT THE PACO with the exclusive T-Shirt. We will be wearing this if we get at least 6 shirts sold (4 will be bought by us and 10 is the minimum for production). Available in multiple colors in Size S up to XXL. (Delivery 10-15 days). But where do i get this?

Paired up with an unlikely group of Americans the Russian dueler will complete team 1.800.READYUP's roster for the LAN. We are excited to be able to provide a home for one of Quake Live's best and the decision to do so was made because what kind of Quake Live event would it be without him!?

After a long and succesfull winter season, we took a spring break and now there is the opportunity for the teams to compete in this small summer season. You can signup until Wednesday 1st July 21 cest.

The league will start on Thursday 2nd July @21 CEST, all divisions will play at same time and date, every Thursday until the end of the league matches, no play offs expected.

This Sunday at 17:00 CDT you're invited to the 10th North American Duel Cup! The NA.DuelCup will remain a seven map event and I have decided to permanently change the map selection process to Drop-Drop. For single day cups like this Drop-Drop makes more sense to me, but public feedback is always welcome. This month our June 21st map pool will be composed of aerowalk and hektik in addition to the QuakeCon 2015 duel maps. Sign ups are open now, but you must still check in on the same day as usual, and please make sure you are signed up before 16:50 CDT to avoid being locked out of the brackets!

#QLDrafts Sunday CTF Cup #1 (16 comments)

Update: Due to a lot of people PM-ing me on irc, the picking starts at 17:00 CEST and games start as soon as picking is over.

Now that the league has finished it is time yet again for some CTF action. This time around it's a one day cup instead of a month long league.

The signups are already open and you can register yourself for the cup until Sunday, 14th @ 16:00 CEST. It is also mandatory to idle in #qldrafts channel on QuakeNet. Whoever's not there when picking starts (16:00 CEST) will be removed from the cup.

Another important thing to mention is that if there is not at least 32 signups (8 teams) the cup will be canceled.
