Hey guys. I've always wanted to make a fragmovie, so I actually made one. I present King of Fire, with frags by myself from the last few months. The first half is TDM, the second half is Duel and a bit of CA. I didn't have a lot of material to work with (or any previous video-editing experience for that matter), but it turned out almost exactly how I envisioned it and I'm really satisfied with the results.

Thanks to DDK for streaming it earlier and Maverick for the hosting!

Feedback is welcome, although somewhat futile, as I do not intend to make another movie. Movie-making is exciting and feels very rewarding, however it is also an incredibly demanding, exhausting and time-consuming experience. It also uses up an insane amount of HD space.

Right after the success of the Moscow Quake LAN Party #19, which took a place in August and gathered over 40 players, the MQLP series is back to being twice a year. This anniversary LAN however was decided to be held in an unusual format. For the first time in its history, it's gonna be a no duels team-modes only LAN.

Moreover, to raise the fun and competition level, it was decided to make it a draft tournament. Chosen captains are going to pick players and play six official 4x4 disciplines being CA, CTF, TDM, FT, Dom and A&D. Event will happen in the same place as the last time: The CyberSport Laboratory in Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism .

It is winter so its time for the ql Quake Live TDM 4v4 Winter Season. The sign-ups are open from Sunday 14th December until 7th of January 2015.

League start will be Wednesday 14th of January, duration depends on the sign-ups (1 match per week). Division 1 plays Wednesday, Division 2/3 Thursday at 21:00 CET.

Check below for all needed informations and sign-up! If you already have player and clan account on House of Quake, feel free to sign-up right away. Otherwise make sure to register yourselves and your clan first.

The winners of the annual Cacowards for Doom Classic are determined.

With the Cacowards (doomwiki) the Doom community honors the best maps & mods of the year. With the predestined winners also non Doomers can get a glimpse of how far Doom Mapping went after initial release. In celebration of Doom's 21st birthday (shareware December 10, 1993), John Romero shows off some never seen before stuff out of his archive.

It's a little sensation for me. We see unused textures like bushes/way signs/backgrounds, scans of the models, proto typ of Skulls and BFG, alternative bloody death animations from Marine and Pinky, proto Logo/Font/Boxart, sketches, Spiderdemon originally had a magic attack, dinosaur toy legs were used for Pinky Demon, unimplented gun shells. The scans of proto Doom can be converted to have new old textures and animations for upcoming community projects. This is historical relevant game content that will be used. Doomworld collected Romero's links. So there is only one wish left, please Mister Romero, give us a new map!

This isn’t going to be one of those post-acquisition blogs in which the fact that there’s money involved in the transaction is conveniently glossed over. There’s no doubt that being bought by Twitch means all of our employees will be taken care of very well. But at the same time, we’re talking about a group of people who’ve dedicated most - if not all - of their adult lives to esports and to growing this industry. It’s a deserving bunch. On top of that, we’ve reserved a portion of the transaction for a player pool, which means that every player currently contracted with GoodGame will receive a small portion of the company’s sale. And as an Amazon subsidiary, we’ll also be able to offer our players other additional benefits to which they didn’t previously have access.

TL;DR - it’s a good deal for everyone involved. And while I’d be lying to you guys if I said that the level of support didn’t factor into my decision, I’d be lying just as much if I told you that the support alone would’ve been enough. Don’t get me wrong, the financial security doesn’t hurt. But I didn’t put ten years of my life into this company - and this industry - only to sell my soul in public for a couple of bucks.

No word-mincing. No bullshit. That’s not what this is.
