Analysis:
Hailing mostly from Finland, Dumbledore's Army will look go deep [lame harry potter reference about voldermort? ] by fielding a team that makes them a serious contender. The individual skill of this team is on par with any other, the combination of ahxnxa and ovol1ty have been for a long time confounding players with their almost limitlessly deft ability to evade multiple enemies, and make all their shots. Individually and as a duo, these two are sheer magicians in the game, they appear out of thin air when they are attacking you and disappear off the map when you are hunting them. In many ways they play the style, both push their enemies high paced attacking game, taking advantage of their superior movement. Expect these two to do most of the dirty work, carrying the heavy items, rewarding their teammates secure zones and protecting from severely punishing plays. These two great players are complimented by the lazery, roboty, super lollery, Polish superstar dzuki! This recent addition to the team gives them another weapon in their arsenal, another dominant TDM player with what can only described as sublime skills, anchored by a tonne of experience. They have solidified their roster with the damage monster, LuGia, who’s tenaciously surgical aim is well documented in the general Quake community. A more recently formed star, gaiia, will not be able to fully participate in this tournament due to the fact that Finland still exists in a state of fascism, and requires him to server in the military.I would imagine not having him avaliable will only hurt this team as he is able to provide more of the same, high class aim, However, to this tournament, this team will need to work on its teamplay. If they do not, I would expect them to have difficulty when they face other, high skilled, team who can match them shot-for-shot. Their final player JaGGz is a bit of an enigma to me, I am not familiar with him but I believe (I may be mistaken) that he hails for VQ3/QL, it will interesting to see how he performs. Any idea how he might perform?
Mesta: This team has very strong potential with very skilled and experienced players. The individual skills are amongst the best in CPM overall and despite the high ping they will have to face, they will give lots and lots of issues to the north american teams, even the strongest ones.
xero: I’d agree with that, I expect some exciting games, but they will really shine on maps where you can get away with a run and gun style.
myT: This team has several players that can assume the leading role reliably: gaiia, ahxnxa, dzuki. Unfortunately, gaiia will be serving at the army and won’t be available to play many matches, so I’d expect ahxnxa to be the leader when gaiia isn’t around. ahxnxa and gaiia have a lot of TDM experience, dzuki and LuGia were very good 1v1 players (and so is gaiia now). gaiia, ovo, ahxnxa and LuGia are well known in the community for being heavy aimers. JaGGz is relatively new to CPM, but he’s a solid player from what I’ve seen in CPM pickups. I remember dzuki playing some CPM TDM, he had annoyingly good positioning and PU defense skills.
Prediction:
Mesta: Big potential for top 3-4. One of the powerhouse of the competition.
xero: Lead by the inglorious bastard ahxnxa (pronounced haxnax, yes I have confirmed it with him) I think this team will end up top 3.
myT: This team is the closest we have to the ru8 of the old days (apart from the actual ru8 team): incredible individual talent mixed with a heavy dose of CPM TDM experience with players than can potentially all rise to the challenge when the situation requires it. This team is top 3 material.
ShadyAK: CPMA as fuck yo. any place within top4 ez, unless they get ru8 or TA, in which case it's on and result unpossible to predict.
