After a relatively successful first season, we decided to continue the league. Now, the league will be held not only on Moscow servers that enables all the European teams, which wanted, but could not take part because of the large Moscow server pings, to participate in the competition.
All the rules and game schedule will be published later, but at this time we open the registration instructions. To register, you should write to the irc-channel #carnage !! (yes, with two !!), the team name and lineup to me (nixon). Each team can register up to 9 members. And, of course, a player registered for a certain team cannot take part in the game for another team.

Also, we want to make 2 divisions.

Start: 20th September.
Deadline: 30th November.

Two months after the end of the HoQ Spring Season 2015, it's now time to announce the new season!

The TDM HoQ Fall 2015 Season will be starting in October, while the sign-ups should open around the 27th of September for two weeks.

A new design for the website is under way and will settle the definite agenda for the league. The rules has been reviewed : there is now only one wildcard per team. The map pool almost remains the same : Deep Inside, Dreadful Place, Grim Dungeons, Limbus, Purgatory, Ragnarok, Tornado (Deep Inside now replaces Hidden Fortress).

Also, you can now donate for the league. This should help to build some prize money for the competition and to attract / motivate more teams to sign up!

You've probably heard about the Adderall drama that was started by pro CS player

Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen when he openly admitted that all the members of his team (

Cloud9) were using this stimulant drug during the ESL One Katowice tournament.

Although none of the team members have been punished, mainly because the Electronic Sports League couldn't prove they actually took amphetamines,

Anna Rozwandowicz, ESL's Head of Communication, announced a program in partnership with NADA and WADA (respectively German and worldwide anti-doping agencies) to help create an anti-PED (Performance Enhancing Drugs) policy that is "fair, feasible and conclusive while also respecting the privacy of players".

The official rules and guidelines will be updated with the new measures, meanwhile the first saliva tests will randomly take place in ESL Cologne next week-end, and will be extended to all competitions organized, hosted or produced by ESL (Intel Extreme Masters, ESL One, ESEA Pro League, etc.).

ESL will be looking for some substances that made the WADA list, including marijuana, for which they recently raised the threshold by a factor of 10.

As eSports continue to grow in visibility and popularity, ESL, one of the oldest and largest organization, wants to pave the way to a new integrity standard in order to protect the players and the sport as a whole. Will this become the new norm for every eSport organisation? If professionnal gamers want the same recognition as traditional sport athletes, it will certainly have to.

After a very long time of inactivity with interviews,

Esportactu is back with an encounter with

zanZan, the mysterious player competing in almost all the duel competitions for more than a year and a half now. Even though she didn't win any competition yet, she was able to perform pretty well against most of the top players in Europe, and even took maps from opponents such as

Cypher,

k1llsen or

fazz according to QLRanks.

In this interview, we discussed her overall game approach, her background as a player, the way she sees her own style, the community, and various other questions concerning duel, Aerowalk, etc. As usual, the main idea is to give the community a bit more background about a sub-top player which is part of the competiting scene for a long time while remaining in the dark.

Esportactu : You have been playing a lot of games, especially Clan Arena (4,4k) and duels (9,3k). What did you like in these two modes that made you play that much ? Was duel a natural choice for you ?

zanZan : Reason to CA is mainly because I can play with music and not care, but I also tend to hit ridiculous shots in that mode making it quite fun to play. As for duel I have no idea why I am even trying. My patience is too great, and my nerves are catastrophic, so no, it was never natural. [...]
