In windowed mode, it runs just as smooth as if you had alt-enter'd your Q3 but instead of being able to drag the window around, the game is be embeded to the QuakeZero website from which you launched the game (you may drag that window around if you wish).

Marty Stratton: Well, not really, *laughs*. It's in the infancy stage, just throwing around ideas and concepts for the next Quake Arena game. We're going to use QuakeZero as a beta test in deploying different systems, spectating ability, matchmaking, doing different tournaments, collecting data, all that stuff that goes into the game.
- a completely new quakestyle weapon(no napalm stuff:P)(?)I don't think thats possible. Think about it, there are only two types of weapons possible. Instant hit, and delayed/projectiles. Everything else is a variations. On the insta-hit side, we have a constant beam LG and weaker MG, a time delayed one-hit RG. For projectiles we have a long delay RL, short delay PG, also GL. And I think that covers the most essential basic types. Anything else is probably a bit gimmicky and takes away from ease of balance and strategical planning of the gameplay. If you want some fun cool weapons, check out Chaos DM for Q2, was absolutely loads and loads of fun with the machine gun torrets you could place in key places, gravity vortexes, air-gun, flameflower, bows'n'arrows with variouse types of explosive errors as well as sickness grenades, etc ,etc, but it wasn't exactly what DM is meant to be.

heh. I had the same idea six years ago...
The reason it never went anywhere was basically (a) you need a LOT of flags (IIRC I asked Sujoy if we could swipe ESR's), and (b) god forbid you don't have the flag for Outer Nowheria: suddenly it's all racism accusations etc. Then there's the Stupid Political Shit where including a Tibetan flag gets the game banned in China, and so on.
2) Give people ratings not only by how good they are, but also think about giving them punishments for leaving games early. I get so frustrated when people quit halfway (for instance think about 5 points = 2 day ban, 1 point per quit, and 1 point gets deducted every day (1 free disconnect a day))

you don't consider being able to position yourself with an advantage as part of a players skill?
- As I've suggested in a different thread, I think the movement systems of CPM, VQ3, and VQ4 should all be implemented together in the form of power-ups that work like Haste, except they alter the physics of your own movement rather than simply the speed of your movement. It would lead to more control-based dueling/teamplay and more diverse skill sets if each map had this sort of feature. It would also make FFA and team games more interesting as well.
